We were kayaking with Wet Planet and typically stay in Hood River but decided to shorten the drive by staying next door at RubyJune and are very glad we did. We had booked online and weren't aware of how engaged the new owners are with guests. They regularly checked in on us throughout the day, shared many stories, and offered specific hiking guidance. The breakfast is great and I enjoyed the garden space so much that we added a day just so I could study there instead of at a boring desk. WiFi is sufficient for surfing and video but didn't seem fast enough for mission critical video calls. I find that people have become emotionally distant during COVID and I appreciated that Chris & Gretchen broke this mold and were welcome while still allowing us to maintain separation from other guests. I admit to not being particularly scared of COVID myself but still appreciated that they limit risk by spacing out seating in their garden, encouraging groups to have breakfast at staggered times, and not doing daily housekeeping.

This was a wonderful experience in all ways, that we will always treasure! Very highly recommended!! We went to the Hood River, Oregon area for a wedding of a nephew. Staying at this B&B across the Columbia River was the best choice we could have made......much more enjoyable than staying in a typical motel.

Great place, great welcome.super comfortable home from home. Clean and all the small touches are there. Care and thought doesn’t cost... and it’s also great value here. But also a lot of work ! Dave was a joy to meet and did a super job on breakfast. Glad you guys are retiring and going to enjoy your grandkids! You have established a super brand of warm homely lodging that is stand out. Hope the new owners keep it up. You and Connie should be super proud ! Thank You!

Mark, many thanks for your kind words. Glad you enjoyed your stay and your visit with Dave. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you during your time here. Yes, our retirement is very bitter-sweet. We have loved meeting so many great guests - such as you - but having time with family and grand-kids in this stage of our life is so important. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and for taking time to share your wonderful review. - Connie

We stayed at the Husum Riverside B&B in July 2019 in the Northern Nights room. The room was amazingly well done and super comfy. The hosts were great and offered great tips for areas to explore nearby. We didn't get a chance to explore the wine nearby but enjoyed driving up closer to Mt Adams and the scenic views on the way. Would definitely stay here again in this area.

We had a wonderful time. We stayed in the Northern Nights room and it was incredibly relaxing. I had a tremendous run through very scenic countryside and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast that was incredible! We absolutely look forward to coming back again and enjoying this property. The area is very low key and a great place to relax just a few miles away from Hood River. We also enjoyed an evening meal at the cafe next door based on the recommendations of the owner. We were tired from a day of traveling and that was the perfect recommendation. Great stay on our 30th anniversary trip!
