Clean well-managed property. Best breakfast in town. Would have liked a bit firmer bed and a chair to sit in. Owners were very friendly and you could tell the motel is on the upswing. Lots of attention to detail. Would stay here again.
What a great find! Super clean hotel and quite location. Stayed here one night and it was a great surprise! Impressed on the cleanliness, friendly family style service (vs the pretentious of expensive hotels) and the amenities! Room had two bed in different divided areas. Full kitchen, great bathroom and super continental breakfast (coffee, sack breakfast with yogurt, pastry and sausage egg muffin). I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat! Close to all the touristy stuff and grocery store. Excellent stay!,
CLEAN! COMFY! COZY! Parking right in front of our first-floor room! Sink and tub that drain freely! Liquid hand soap with a scent both sexes enjoy (no Cashmere Boquet or other floral garbage)! Dispenser-based body wash along with shampoo mounted to the wall! A toilet we could sit on and rise from without breaking our backs! All fixtures and surfaces that sparkled! Linens and bedding that smells as if they were just machine washed and line dried! Daily housekeeping! Booking for each room at least 72 hours between guests as a pandemic precaution! Those are among the many, many plusses of The Ponderosa in Goldendale, which we checked into last Friday, October 1, 2021. Saturday the 2nd got off to a great start with this motel's free breakfast. While most of the big chains define this as prepackaged grub in the age of COVID-19, The Ponderosa actually offers REAL FOOD buffet style in a bright room! Items can be mixed and matched to fit most any dietary need: veggie scramble, home fried potatoes, link sausage, waffles (you make yourself on an electric griddle), various breads including English muffin to toast, flavored yogurt, and more. Juice, orange or apple, is actually POURABLE from pitchers! And the coffee, regular or decaf, is decent, too. Afterwards, we were off to this year's Concours de Maryhill car show, where—because we arrived early—my love was able to get a prime spot on the lawn mere feet away from the registration, raffle/silent auction, and food truck areas. If you're thinking of coming to next year's Concours (always held the first weekend of October), you must—either as one showing a vintage or a rare later-model vehicle or one enjoying them! And be sure to book at The Ponderosa!!! We had such a wonderful time meeting people and talking with them • seeing all the other cars and trucks (the 1972 gold Plymouth Satellite Sebring was our fave, followed closely by the lipstick red 1957 Chevrolet Nomad) • being enraptured by the Columbia River, the Maryhill Park grounds, and the overall gorgeous day • touring the Museum itself. And we'll be back next year for both the Concours and The Ponderosa!!!!!…
Wonderful stay. The managers, Jason and June went above and beyond in ensuring our wi-fi became active, bringing some blankets and a light bulb to our room. The breakfast was fabulous and comprehensive. I would go back tomorrow if I were in the area.
I had difficulty with my trip plans and Jason was so amendable, friendly and down right funny with helping me with my reservations. The free breakfast had lots to pick from, which included biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage to cereal with lots of fruit, pastries, juices and coffee. It is an older motel, but the room was clean, smelled great and roomy. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the "dog area". It is in dire shape and needs to be cleaned up of messes that were abundant.
