Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for one night for our anniversary, Valentine's day :) We had a free night stay with our "Reef Rewards". We had a king room with a view of Mt.Baker. The room was clean, bed was comfy. My husband even has a black light that he used to check the room for "bodily fluids" and I was quite relieved that nothing was found. The only noticeably dirty thing I found was the coffee mug, but I had brought my own anyways. We went to the hot tub and sauna, and they were clean and relaxing. We ate in the Red River Cafe, we had their Valentine's special of surf and turf. Everything was delicious, although the dessert seemed like it had sat in a fridge all day. The casino was fun, but kind of small. The downside to the casino is that it is SO smoky. There is a tiny area that is non-smoking. I left the casino with a taste of cigarettes in my mouth, it is quite difficult to breathe in there. Even so, we would stay here again as the hotel was so nice.

We live in nearby Bellingham and due to the recent high temperatures and smoke from wildfires we decided to spend a few nights at Silver Reef. The rooms in the north tower were clean and comfortable. We wished there had been a mini frig in the room but other than that there were no complaints about the room. The casino was pretty standard for the tribal operations in the area but it is 100% non-smoking which helps greatly. The staff was attentive. Food options are a bit limited at this time and the buffet is not currently operating. Pan Asia restaurant is open for takeout only. The pizza place and red river cafe are open. The food is pretty average but it was fine for a few days and we appreciated not having to leave to find something to eat.

Hotel is a midrange casino resort which has some major limitations that could be easily fixed.:
There are no personal safes in the rooms, which means you’re stuck carrying your valuables with you while you’re on the premises.
And there is no mini fridge. Unless you are super fond of year old creamers, you need to be innovative or bring your own cooler to store your carton of milk.
The spa was my wife’s favorites for facials which are, unfortunately, no longer offered.
The desk staff is courteous but limit themselves to quoting rules more often than not. The friendliness is extended more toward each other than to guest.
The internet is terrible given the fact that you have to relogin every few hours or so with a complicated password and username. If the floor is busy, then chances are you will have a weak signal or interrupted service.
If the above were fixed, it would compensate for the noisy motel style heating / cooling system. But that was a construction oversight and not easily fixed.
The rates are usually reasonable but not cheap but fit the upscale room decor. There is a coffee shop that was not opened during our stay…the pandemic has certainly not helped the ability to staff. The cleaning staff is very friendly, much more than those at the front desk.

Went for Valentines promotion, $149 room plus $20 gambling credit and $50 restaurant credit. The deal was appealing so I booked it. The front desk service was pathetic. Talking amongst each other with no customer interaction.
The rooms need a remodel. Paint chipped off bathroom vanity and bathroom door very dirty.
Bed was comfortable as were pillows.
On check out, there was different staff, but still just talked among themselves. Very poorly ran.
Went for lunch at cafe inside casino. The service was slow and food was mediocre. My wife ordered a piece of salmon and a soup and was charged for the salmon meal as well as the soup. The salmon meal comes with soup but they charged us extra for it. Talked to 2 supervisors but they said that is what you ordered and did not change the bill. It was for 95 cents difference so this was the principle to us.
They were very rude and we will not ever be back.

I don’t like to write reviews like this but the hotel staff left a bad taste in my mouth. Total lack of service and no urgency to handle service issues. We booked a two night stay and checked in late on Friday. Got to the 6th floor room in the north tower with our luggage(it’s a walk) only to open the door on another couple already occupying the room we were supposed to check into. Had to walk all the way back to the front desk and was told yes they made a mistake. No real apology and staff was clueless that this was a major safety issue. I had left my husband on the 6th floor with all the luggage. Told the front desk that he was up on the floor however the front desk failed to tell me that I could not get back up to him without a key and they moved us to a room on the 5th floor. Cell phone service is also really bad in the hotel and you get dead spots so he couldn’t hear my phone calls to have him come down. I had to go down to the front desk a third time to get another key to get up to the 6th floor. The front desk person said oh ya you need a key. In the process of all this there was a very intoxicated couple in the lobby that the hotel had banned from the casino and security was handling however it was causing a great scene for other guests. Not handled very properly and went on for all my visits back and forth to the front desk. The hotel also took a deposit at check in for incidentals and what they failed to let you know is that their computer systems never worked so you couldn’t charge to the room the first day and a half. Restaurant staff seemed aware but no one at the front desk did. On the day of check out we asked for an hour extension and thought maybe the front desk would take notice due to our issues and they said they just couldn’t extend. When we left there were numerous empty rooms with one person working at the far end of the hall from our room. It was clear that we didn’t need to vacate the room that fast.
I asked for a front desk manager from several of the front desk staff during my stay and was told repeatedly that no one was there until Monday. I finally was able to get a name on Sunday for the actual manager and left a voice Mail after check out and never heard back from management. I can’t recommend that you stay at this resort if you are looking for any type of service. They don’t care and they are not trained. There are other hotels in the area and you can Uber in if you want to visit the casino. Don’t think we will be back .

All the staff I dealt with were great. The room was OK but not for what they're charging. Pretty plain. I've had better at a Holiday Inn Express for a lot less. No free drink stations for coffee, pop, etc in the gaming area. The free breakfast buffet was horrible. Very little, prepackaged food to choose from and then if you want meat, i.e. sausage, bacon or ham it's an extra $3 each person. They have valet service but it's at the casino entrance so no valet or anyone to help at the hotel entrance. It's the nicest hotel in Ferndale and that's the only reason I would stay again if I had to.

Nice casino with a good selection of slots and table games. The hotel was redone a few years ago and the rooms are quite lovely. Disappointed that an overnight stay no longer includes a buffet breakfast in the morning. On the hand hand I was pleasantly surprised to find the entire space is now smoke free with a small closed off room for smokes to the side. The toiletries provided are also a nice, spa level quality and that’s always a nice extra with full shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers in the shower. The restaurants also offer good food at a decent price (the grilled sheeted sandwich is outstanding!). Will definitely stay again.

Stayed on Wednesday for a night. Machines paid enough to keep me going. Tables wasn’t paying for me. You can have a free breakfast or $5 off at the barista in the morning. Breakfast sandwiches are good or a mocha was good. Stayed in the old hotel part ( south tower) as we like more room in the vanity area. Bartenders were great in keeping the lines flowing. Waited less than a minute ordering a cocktail. Room was clean and beds were great. Heater worked great. Happy hour 4-6 pm on selected draft beers.

Starting with a 20 min wait to check in, I got the feeling something was different. I haven’t stayed here since before the pandemic, and I was a frequent traveler then.
Since I was standing in line with not much to do, I could over hear the check ins in front of me and 2 out of five rooms were not ready at check in time of 4pm.
Check in was smooth for me thankfully, and we got a room in the North tower
The room? Very clean. No issues
The bathroom? Very clean. They now supply paper cups in the bathrooms which was a bit surprising to me.
Turned on the water to fill up a water bottle and it was grey (see photo). I ran the water for a while thinking it would clear but no. I asked housekeeping about it and was told “it should be fine to drink”. I don’t think so. I bought some for $2.50 a bottle in the drink machine instead.
Beds were comfy with very soft pillows that are not adult sized. But there were three of them so I managed.
We have CPAP machines and had to move the night stand from the wall as there were no power outlets available near the beds. Also, the screen from the in room assistant we had to shut off because we couldn’t figure out how to turn down the brightness. No clock by the bed.
Played in the casino for a while. It’s not as fun as pre pandemic. The machines are not as fun as they used to be. Mostly Asian themed games. Nothing with an interactive game. I didn’t find much I enjoyed. Skagit has much better machines
We got a pizza from pizzanini and it was yummy as usual
Overall not a horrible stay but nothing spectacular.

I don’t understand all the bad reviews! Check in was easy and efficient, and every single employee we interacted with was quite pleasant. The south tower hotel room was clean and comfortable. If I had any complaint it would be the hotel rooms are not soundproof, and the doors are noisy when they shut. Hubby and I had a great time playing the slot machines, and left with more cash than we arrived with. The meals and service were good. What more could we ask for? Thank you Silver Reef for a great anniversary celebration!

I have no idea. I'm not sure I have ever heard about this statement.
Absolutely. All the large Casinos in the Western Washington area have areas for RV parking.
It's open until 10 or 11pm but after 9pm is 18+. It's not indicated on the pool entrance - found out the hard way, with my toddler ready to play in the water and a grumpy old lady :(
