We had a great stay in one of the cabooses. The beds were very comfortable and the train car was clean. We loved it!!! But we are an adventurous group. The only thing bad was it was musty when we entered but that quickly went away. We had a great stay.

It has a novel uniqueness to it (they are old cabooses/box cars) but it ends there. The cars are located right off the highway so if the AC is not running most likely you will hear the growl of trucks and passing traffic, although more annoying than unbearable. The rooms are tight given the pure nature of the dimension of... More

Had to check in, in the lounge in which that was weird, then had to wait for 10 mins while he was taking orders from other guests. Then finally came to check me in then after he checked me in he asked How I was going to pay the Maid with credit card or cash? Really!?....for 1 we just checked... More

I agree with many other reviewers that this is just an OK place to visit. The caboose sleeping quarters were small but fine for a one night stay while we visited the NW Trek up the road a bit. The dining was on the pricey side, and was mostly just bar food (chix nuggets, burger and fries, etc.). The person... More

A stay in a caboose is infrequent but worthwhile once. Amidst a blanket of history yet the blanket on the bed cannot eliminate the cold. The heater was useless and loud. No TV, no radio, no wifi. The unit was clean and tidy. Nice soaps and towels. It was cold and the bed needs a new mattress. Ok once.

I found the Hobo Inn while looking for places to stay while visiting Mt. Rainier and Mt. Saint Helens. Thought it was unique that the railroad cars had been turned in to hotel rooms. The check-in process took some time. We arrived around 6 pm and the woman who was to check us in (and another couple waiting) was also... More

I have no significant complaint(s) about our stay there. It was fun and there's something unique about sleeping in a converted caboose. Now for the good to know information: Not all the units have air conditioning and if you go during one of those rare times where there's oppressive heat, it will be HOT. I don't know about all the... this inn was a lot of fun since your room is actually a train caboose. Your price of the room was not bad and a full sized breakfast is included. I remember I order a meal and wanted a side of strawberries and got a bowl filled with fresh berries topped with whip cream and sprinkles. The only thing I... More

We stayed in the yellow caboose, #4 and it was far bigger than I imagined. My boyfriend and I were there just for one night and had a great time. I'd definitely stay again. The windows didn't open but the back and front doors did, so we got a nice breeze. There was a TV that only played vhs tapes,... More

Okay, I'll start with Abby, the most awesome girl ever! Our 7 year old left his stuffed animal "Buddy" in the blankets in our caboose. It wasn't until that night at bedtime (we'd already checked into our next hotel for the night) that we realized he'd been left. I called immediately and spoke with someone telling them how important this... More
