Delightfully modern, clean & comfortable B&B set on an artist dream palette of Otter's Pond, pleasantly appointed with lily pads, roaming deer, a variety of birds and a knowledgable, gracious host, Amanda.

Deliciously Amanda created breakfasts, a James beard recognized chef, locally sourced, eggs from her own chickens, tasty local coffee, warm banana bread fresh from the oven, fresh fruit & orange juice, pancakes flowing with local blueberries, smoked salmon & scrambled eggs & cured bacon..
I could go on!

All this centrally located just minutes from Moran State Park for hiking, kayaking & exploring. Not far from the towns of Olga and the unique shopping in Eastsound.
A De-Lovely moment in time & place to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary on the beautiful island of Orcas!

Otter's Pond B & B located on Orcus Island is a class act. Our room was comfortable and cosy. Large windows overlook the pond. There is a well-stocked library with a large selection of books. Amanda, our host, provided us with world-class breakfasts each morning. My wife is a diabetic and Amanda made sure our breakfasts were tasty as well as low carbohydrate. Amanda is a gracious host and we thoroughly enjoyed talking with her. An Orcus Island native she has excellent suggestions for things to fill your day. She suggested taking a drive up to Mount Constitution. The views at the top are stunning - a photographer's delight. If you are looking for comfortable accommodations in a pleasant setting you cannot go wrong by choosing Otter's Pond. We will stay with Amanda again when we are next on Orcus Island.

My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our 4 days/nights at Otter's Pond. I'm not a bird enthusiast, and I still found the pond itself mesmerizing. We loved having breakfast with that spectacular view! The location is great. For hiking, it was awesome to have Moran State Park just a few minutes away, and Turtleback Mountain not much further. Amanda's breakfasts were spectacular, and her recommendations for restaurants and activities invaluable. The rooms and common areas were spotlessly clean and inviting with beautiful furnishings and artwork from local artists. And to top if off, there is Amanda herself, who is just a delight to spend a little time with.

Beautiful location, on the south shore of Otter's Pond, about a five-minute drive from Eastsound and a three-minute drive to Moran State Park. The facility is newish, well maintained, comfortable. Our room on the ground floor was small but lovely, the double bed adequate. Bath was a claw foot tub with a functional shower that looked European in design. The hostess, Amanda, was welcoming, helpful, and a talented chef, who prepared delicious breakfasts. We especially appreciated her ability to identify the numerous birds that flocked to the feeders on the back deck. I hope we can return again

We are here at Otter's Pond right now and will be checking out later today. We ended up booking a small and unassuming room (The Chickadee Room), but we were VERY happy with it. Right on the ground floor near the common areas with a great view of the wildlife at window height. The bathroom served our needs delightfully. Amanda, chef and owner, prepared soooo much food at breakfast (all delicious and mostly homemade/farm-to-table), plus, there was free wine every day. My husband and I enjoyed a glass of vino outside both nights of our stay. Excellent. We loved staying here and would definitely do it again. Highly recommended. Oh, one more thing...The Mansion restaurant is very nearby and has amazing food and views. We did not enjoy our desserts, but we ate there two nights, and all the actual food was really, really, really good. Great chef. In Eastsound, we also really enjoyed our lunch at White Horse Pub...also with excellent view.

What an absolute gem of a location. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic, thoughtful getaway you have found it. Otters Pond was a fabulous location for my Covid Valentine’s Day elopement. We felt treated like royalty. The hosts were so incredibly kind and went out of their way to make our day special- going so far as to be our witnesses when a surprise snowstorm threatened to cancel everything for us! The treatment is excellent, the bedrooms are cozy and relaxing, and the food is *to die for!* Amanda is a phenomenal chef- you will not regret breakfast and if you are lucky enough to splurge for a private dinner: treat yourself. It was probably the best meal of my life. We can’t wait to return! 🥰🥰🥰

Amanda treated us so well at her B&B. The room was exquisite and so nicely furnished. The common areas were comfy and breakfast was gourmet class, cooked by Amanda. And the pond/terrace area was so relaxing and beautiful, with birds and wildlife to watch. Couldn't be happier.

My adult daughter and I stayed here in May 2021. The Swan Room was lovely, and we saw SO many new birds! The food...well, get ready to hike the rest of the day. Everything Chef Amanda prepared was delicious, and she was very responsive to any food sensitivities we had. The location is perfect...not far from Eastsound restaurants for lunch and dinner, and right on the edge of Moran Park for adventures. Highly recommend.

We'd originally booked our room for a family gathering the summer of 2020, then Covid hit and all plans had to be postponed. We were FINALLY able to take advantage of that original booking (albeit without family en tow!) this past week and were so pleased and delighted with everything about the place.

We owned a vacation home on Orcas for many decades and know the island well, so it's always nice to discover a new corner, a new view, a new setting in which to enjoy this magical place. Otter's Pond didn't disappoint.

Amanda, the proprietor, was warm and welcoming (and a fabulous chef!), the room was cozy and delightfully appointed; the deck was large and set in a most bucolic, peaceful surrounds. Gazing out at the lily-pad covered pond and watching the very active bird life in and around kept us occupied for longer than we'd have expected... it was just so engaging!

Both breakfasts we were served were SUPERB and beautifully plated, our every need was anticipated and met, and we left feeling so glad to have had a new and wonderful experience on our beloved island.

Thank you, Amanda, for an exceptional stay! Lorraine & Pete Wilke

Answer from Otters Pond B&B
Eastsound, Washington
It is ideal to have a car when visiting Orcas and the other San Juan Islands, as there is much to explore and no public transportation available other than a couple independent taxi services. Most people from out of state will fly into SeaTac airport, rent a car and drive to the Anacortes ferry terminal (about 2 hours north of SeaTac.) From there guests take a car ferry (reservations required- visit Washington State Ferries website.) The other option is you can fly into SeaTac and take a small plane from Boeing Field or Lake Union in Seattle with Kenmore Airlines, and they will fly you directly to Orcas to several different locations on the island, where you can then rent a car. I hope that helps- please feel free to call me at Otters Pond B&B and I will be happy to help you with your plans 360.376.8844
