We truly enjoyed our stay and conversations with Henri, one of the owners, here in September. We were traveling with our adult daughter so stayed in the basement suite with private bedroom and second bed in an expansive living room and kitchenette. The views from the deck out on to the pond were exquisite. We loved the delicious French breakfasts and could not get enough of their wonderful coffee. Great location. Easy, ample parking. Beautiful gardens. Adorable goats and even horses. Bald eagles also frequent the area. The decor is dated but extremely clean and comfortable. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. This type of thing doesn't matter to us, but it may to some others. We would eagerly stay here again and highly recommend this. Hot tub on patio was awesome after a cool, rainy hike. Enjoy!

The cottage was sweet and cozy. We spent the day on the porch listening to the rain. Our four legged family member loved it too. The hot tub was clean and ready for us to enjoy. The cottage was also equipped with a fireplace which came in handy after the soaking. We found it on our way into town. It's conveniently right off the ferry. The hosts: Nicole and Henri are so precious with their kindness. Totally a treat.

We stayed at the Old Trout for 3 nights on our honeymoon, and upon checking in received a free upgrade to the cottage. The cottage was well appointed with a comfortable bed, private deck and hot tub, sitting area, kitchenette, and bathroom. It was a nice bonus to have the extra privacy of a standalone building, rather than the room in the main house which we had originally booked. The property is beautiful, with lush gardens and a path to walk around the pond, and lots of cute decorations and benches to sit and enjoy the view along the way. It is a relaxing setting with lots of wildlife including birds, frogs, bunnies, and more I am sure. Breakfasts were great, and held on the deck overlooking the pond. Nicole is a french chef, which means breakfast included smoked salmon wrapped in puff pastry, homemade cream puffs, homemade croissants, cheese souffles, and I am sure had we been able to stay longer that the list would continue. On our last day we had to catch a very early ferry home, so they prepared to-go breakfast for us which had delicious almond poppy seed muffins as well as fruit and juice. We also opted to do dinner at the Inn one night, which started with a salad, then I had the old trout special of prawns while my husband had the salmon, both came with asparagus and a pesto stuffed tomatoes, and then a pear with chocolate sauce dessert. It was a delicious meal and I would definitely recommend the dinner option to other guests. We had a great stay here, and would definitely recommend it to others.

We were lucky enough to spend a weekend a The Old Trout Inn at Orcas Island. The bed and breakfast is on a beautiful lot perfect for walking and our room overlooked the pond. Our room also had it's own hot tub. The highlight of the weekend was the delicious food. We had dinner at the Inn and it was a meal we won't forget. Breakfast was great too. Henri and Nicole were wondeful hosts.

This is an adorable place to stay with a private entrance, hot tub, sauna and a pond with lots of wildlife. The couple that runs the place are from France and so sweet. The wife is a fabulous cook and breakfast was amazing with homemade croissants, homemade jam from their yard, etc. It is quiet and close to town and the the ferry. We loved it!
