Charles and Jill make you feel comfortable at once in this beautiful historic setting. Their bed and breakfast is a comfortable home - a private hot tub and beautiful home cooked breakfast. Don’t pass up a chance to stay here - we look forward to coming back.
Great experience in this Hotel. Owners are very friendly, welcoming and very caring. Breakfast is fully organic and amazing. The rooms are very clean and confortable. The whole is experience is great and make the quality price ratio extra ordinary,
Great weekend here to celebrate a birthday. The attention to detail in all aspects is phenomenal. All three breakfasts were 5 stars. Very creative and tasty dishes. Owners are kind, helpful, and the don’t hover at all. They both have a great sense of humor and truly enjoy being inn keepers. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and clean. They even touch up your room when you are out. If we return to the area we would definitely stay here again. A very memorable weekend. Thank you to our hosts!!!
We arrived, the 10 best friends, for three days of celebration for my wife’s 60’th Birthday. What we found was a charming and inviting Inn and two equally inviting and wonderful innkeepers! Jill and Charles cooked for us, stealth and unobtrusively laughed with us and silently organized for our next day’s adventures! Thank you both!!
We enjoyed our stay at Kangaroo House in every way. Jill and Charles are wonderful innkeepers/owners and their hospitality is beyond measure. Breakfasts were creative, plentiful, tasty and the conversations were even better. Our room was perfect for us with all the amenities one would want. We especially appreciated great wifi security with each room having its own network/password. The house is charming with beautiful antiques and lots of comfortable sofas and chairs, and extras like blankets and throws, and books galore. Everything was totally charming! The hot tub, located down a short wooded walkway was an extra bonus. Thank you Jill and Charles! We hope to return!
My wife and I have done a lot of traveling over the years, and the Kangaroo House is quite possibly the best B&B we have ever stayed in. Everything we look for in a good B&B was here - excellent serene, picturesque location close to town; large, quiet, comfortable bedroom and bathroom; gracious hosts who take the time to get to know their guests; and best of all, unbelievable gourmet breakfasts (different delicious surprises every morning). Hot coffee is available every morning at 7am for early risers, a sunny deck and beautiful gardens surround the historic building. We had a delightful time chatting with our hosts, who were very helpful with local information such as restaurants, ferries, sightseeing, etc. We highly recommend this B&B to fellow travelers!
We finished up a trip to Alaska with a stopover on Orcas Island and stayed at this B&B. The island is magical and our hosts, Charles and Jill, were beyond kind and helpful every step of our stay. We were in the Stellar Jay room. The bed is very comfortable, the bedding beautiful, and the handmade soap topped it off. We are from a different time zone and it was so nice to have quality coffee available early in the morning in the common area. The breakfasts are not to be missed. Organic and delicious ingredients made with the utmost attention served on beautiful dishes. The guests spread out nicely for breakfast so we felt social distancing during meals was observed. We had so much fun exploring this island, hiking and eating delicious food. We blocked out time for use of the hot tub that is in a very private area of the back yard and it was charming. I spent one entire day on the huge front porch reading. I felt like I had stepped back in time with such fresh air and beautiful surroundings. We loved this B&B and we want to get back as soon as possible.…
Stay Here! If you are considering it, stop thinking about it and stay here. It is just outside of Eastsound. It was quiet and relaxing, We stayed in the Chickadee Room and it was SOOOO clean. Jill met us at the front door and gave us a tour around the house. It was stunning. The historical house was so well appointed. The surrounding gardens reminded me of visiting my grandma's house. The front porch is the stuff of HGTV dreams. We sat on the back deck and read and played boggle in the cool breeze. It was so relaxing and lovely after a few hectic days of travelling. Right down the road was a tiny beach where we were able to sit and watch for whales. We were able to go out to the hot tub after sunset and watch the stars and bats come out. The bed was so comfortable. However, the absolute highlight was the breakfast! Fresh squeezed orange juice and hot coffee, lovely fruit plate, BREAKFAST RISOTTO with halibut, and pecan bites for a dessert. The breakfast room was lovely and there was the whole deck to eat on. The hummingbirds were busy enjoying their breakfast at the feeders all around. I can not recommend this place highly enough! Thank you Jill and Charles.…
We loved the historic character of the very clean and spacious B&B! Our room and bathroom were large and very comfortable even in the unusual hot weather. Jill and Charles were the perfect hosts and the generous three course breakfasts were outstanding! We loved sitting on their lovely, large front porch in the afternoons and having our breakfasts on the back porch overlooking the beautiful trees in the yard. We took Jill's suggestion one night to have a take out pizza there and all the utensils we needed were easily available. Perfect B&B!
We recently spent two nights at this lovely and charming B&B. It’s been awhile since we’ve stayed at a B&B and this stay reminded us how wonderful an experience it can be. The house itself is over 100 years old and has so much interesting history. We stayed in the Stellar Jay room on the first floor and everything was very clean. It was a treat to have large, lush towels! The king bed was very comfortable. Staying here reminded us of some of the older hotels we’ve stayed in in Europe. The location was great in Eastsound, Orcas. Orcas Island is a treasure! Our innkeepers, Jill and Charles were very helpful, always open to a conversation. Jill gave us some great hiking advice, much appreciated. As others have mentioned, the breakfast items were absolutely delicious. We used the hot tub one evening. We signed up for a 45 minute time frame and it was nice to have it all to ourselves. Thanks, Jill and Charles for a nice getaway!!!…
