Our stay at the cougar crest house was absolutely stunning and comfortable. We were first greeted by Jackie, the white dog who was so sweet and friendly, it was a great welcome considering we got there after 5pm and picked up our house key on the outside of the office since it was closed. The accommodations were just as pictures showed, the kitchen was well stocked with all pots, pans, wine glasses and all essentials for cooking. The beds were comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The bathrooms were clean and had plenty of extra towels. The washer and dryer worked well as we had laundry to do, the staff even gives you pods of detergent and dryer sheets which were beyond appreciated! The outside views were just incredible and we enjoyed drinking coffee in the morning and wine at night time just looking at the mountains. Jackie came by nightly and also scratched and whimpered at the door making me (animal lover) feel terrible for not letting her spend the night inside. I was told by the staff that she is indeed NOT allowed in the house but tries to trick you! Funny girl. We loved it here and will no doubt recommend to family and friends.

My husband and I stayed in the Wrangler cabin at the end of July. We checked in on my husband's birthday, and the staff had left a birthday card and mini loaf of bread for him. The pictures do not do this cabin justice. It looks a little worn in the pictures, but it doesn't feel that way once you are inside the place. They have done a lot with a very small space. (The refrigerator is located under the sink/stove top, which I did not realize from looking at pictures, so it is rather small.) Towels were refreshed every other day. While we were there, the smoke alarm started chirping, and someone came right out to fix it. Also, they helped us print a forest pass and gave us suggestions for hikes and a map of the area we were headed to the next day. Overall, it is clear that the staff at Ovenell's focuses on customer service. We loved our 4-night stay and would certainly stay again. One suggestion would be to add a full-length mirror somewhere. I could only see from my chest up in the bathroom mirror, and it would've been nice to be able to see my whole outfit. Also, just be warned that the bathroom is very small. The shower is very small. It was fine for us, even though my husband is 6' 2", but if you are bigger people, this might be a problem. Again, it was a fantastic stay!

Will start by saying that this location came recommended by a friend’s family who had stayed there while visiting North Cascades NP.
The ranch has a huge territory. It was a true pleasure to take a walk to the river, in the fields, to watch the animals, and to breathe that grassy summer air. At night, the sky is unbelievable.
I was in the Woodman’s Cabin. Spacious, clean, has everything one needs (but no dishwasher).
Internet was fast and reliable.
It is a private territory, very safe. One could even leave the curtains open and let daylight in.

A cute location and quaint cabins. The Woodsman cabin was smaller than expected. The bed was extremely hard which made for a sore back for hiking the next day. There were no cooking spices, olive oil, etc. as advertised online.

We really enjoyed the fire place once we figured out how to get it to work - turn on the thermostat to heat and it will switch on.

Overall an ok place to stay - good location, but management was not very friendly or helpful.

Clouds shrouded the base of the mountain and mist hugged the white caps as I entered the farm lane of Ovenell’s Heritage Inn in the North Cascades range of Washington state. The mountains hid just barely as the sun began its brilliant and colorful show of setting. Blues, purples and subtle teals blended stunningly into pinks, oranges and yellows, painting the mountain in a mystical shroud like an artist’s vision.

I drove slow, passing by the laying cattle, thinking about how I’m so grateful to be here now. Months of planning and lead up were followed by years of dreaming of the Pacific Northwest and the mountains and old growth forests. Once the excitement eased, a deep peace settled in my heart and chest as I drove on. I eventually came to a cluster of wood cabins and at the end of the row a sign hung on the door labeled “the Fisherman Cabin.”

The place was still and all was quiet. A few cars littered the other cabins and an empty playground stared at me, and I thought how much fun it would be to bring my little boy Rowan next time I return to Washington. The Fisherman Cabin offered a studio setting with queen bed, 3/4 bath with shower, kitchenette, and a range of amenities like air conditioner, wifi, TV, propane fireplace, outdoor grill and picnic table, and a lovely covered porch with mountain views.

I brought in my luggage and fell onto the bed, as I had been driving seven to eight hours. I meditated awhile before I urged myself to get up. I wandered around the cabin, fiddling around the kitchen, with the AC, and enjoying the tiny home-esque aesthetic. I felt very much at home, and loved every little I turned on a Netflix show and gathered myself, before showering, and making my way back out to experience the natural beauty of the North Cascades.

This place is fantastic! The staff is just great - friendly, professional and good suggestions for doing things in the area. The setting is off the road with the individual cabins group together but with enough space for privacy. It is very quiet. Could have stayed here for weeks. COVID-19 masks only needed in the office setting. Highly recommended especially if you're looking for something quiet.

The Woodsman Cabin at Ovenell's Heritage Inn was perfect. Even though quite small, there was a lot of loving attention evident in every detail. Anything we could need to make our stay comfortable was ready at hand - even charcoal, lighter fluid, and matches for the grill. Easy access to the Skagit River (and a million Blackberries) as well as the North Cascades National Park. We will definitely look for another chance to visit and stay longer.

This delightful Inn continues to delight, and has something for everyone. I stayed here last July with a friend in an RV and we had great fun exploring the grounds and meeting the animals. This spot has a killer view of Mt. Baker!! The family which owns and runs the operation makes you feel right at home. I returned here this summer with a different friend and we stayed in a cabin. It had everything we needed to prepare our own meal. I showed her around and introduced her the animals, which were all there again this year - the goats, the horses, the turkeys, and even the bunny rabbit that showed up last year. This bunny herds the chickens around - it's hysterical. We were able to harvest veggies from their extensive garden - the best string beans I've ever had. There is a path that walks all around the grounds, and takes you down to the Skagit River. I could come back here every summer and trails abound in the North Cascades National Park.

This was the perfect location and accommodations for our family gathering. We had a total of 15 people at various times and many fun activities for all ages from the littlest to the oldest! It was a very rural location but close enough to town if you needed anything it was easy to go find it.

A fabulous place to stay to explore the North Cascades! The cabins are large and very comfortable. The kitchens have everything (but food!) you will need for a terrific stay. It's so quiet and peaceful you'll have a hard time leaving to explore! The cabins sit in the midst of a beautiful working farm. There are trails to walk, cows to view and field after field of beautiful wildflowers. And spectacular Mt. Baker is in your backyard! We had a issue with a bolt wedged in one of our tires and the owners couldn't have been more helpful...Scott came and quickly changed our tire and told us exactly where to go to get a replacement. Now that's service! We highly recommend this wonderful Inn!
