I booked this hotel through Air BNB and had to make a last minute change. Chari was very helpful and accommodating. And sensitive to my situation as I was there for a death in the family. The hotel was pretty quiet except for the occasional dog barking, but it did not bother me. Great to have Berry Fields cafe attached. The shared bathroom was a bit inconvenient but couldn’t beat it for the price. Overall quite happy with the stay. I’m sure their weddings are lovely.
An old historic building restored to its former glory while taking into account our more modern needs. The hotel is 3 stories (w/ stairs & elevator), has beautiful hardwood floors is nicely decorated to the 1920’s era, and has an AMAZING terrace overlooking Washington Park. If you embrace stepping back in time, this is a wonderful, reasonably priced place to stay. If you’re looking for the feel of a hotel chain, not sure this is for you. We enjoyed our stay & would stay again. We elected to stay in a standard room (queen bed, closet, small sink) and use the common shower/toilet. I LOVED not having a TV (available upon request if that’s important to you). I was okay using a shared shower/toilet, however since I did have to get up in the middle of the night, I’ll consider a room with a private loo next time. Morning coffee and tea is in the parlor next to the registration area, but they will deliver and set up a small coffee pot in your room. Just ask them at check-in. We made coffee in our room, then grabbed more from the parlor, and took it out on the terrace, which was really enjoyable. In a nutshell, I like eclectic places and don't need a lot of pomp & circumstance. I really enjoyed my stay. The price was right and the customer service was FABULOUS. Yes, there were trains and noise from the street traffic (which quieted after dark), but you’ll get that anywhere downtown. Besides, they provide earplugs! I would definitely stay here again.…
I stayed 2 nights here, and enjoyed my stay. It was very relaxing. The hotel is charming and lovingly being restored by the owners. Check in was smooth. The first night I had a suite with private bath. I really liked the room. Nice size, view of park. The second night I had a small room with no bath. It was still cute, but I would definitely try for the one with the bath next time for both nights. You don’t even have to leave the building to have great food either. The breakfast place was delicious, and the dinner/bar place was literally amazing. The best food I have had in a long time, and I was visiting from Portland! You should stay here and experience for yourself!
This hotel has been meticulously and thoughtfully restored. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The train does go by downtown Centralia throughout the night - no fault of the hotel, and they provide earplugs. The employees were friendly and helpful.
Great price and clean but everything else was fair at best. It is a quaint, old building that has seen better days. With some updating and upgrading it could be "Grand" but as is, fair at best. The bed was very comfortable and the room seemed very clean. Some updating had been done but they really missed the mark a lot of important things. The once beautiful hardwood floors were in need of refinishing. The shower with nice white subway tile and marble surround had absolutely the worst shower head ever. Such an easy fix who knows why. It was fine for one night passing through.
