Detailed Reviews
This is a great way to experience the flavor of a historic hotel that hasn't been all glitzed up, but has all the modern safety features, alarms and sprinklers, etc. The bed in our room was super comfortable, and the always open breakfast/snack room is a real plus. Good recommendations about where to eat were appreciated (Pizza Mill and nearby brewery).

My husband and I are on a road trip, and decided to check out the village of Cathlamet, and are so glad we did. If we were to return we'd stay again at the historic Cathlamet Hotel. The rooms are small, so we booked the suite facing the river; its a corner bedroom with lots of light and views and a very comfy king bed. A small fridge, desk and futon couch are in adjoining room, and a simple continental breakfast in the dining room/library. The place is quirky and clean, with obvious attention to detail. We recommend it!

Hotel Cathlamet is an old style traditional hotel. The bedroom was small and clean, no drinks available in the room but freely available in the breakfast room. There were sitting areas available, a library with books, games and jigsaw, Children's as well as adults. No shelving in room or bathroom to put things on. Breakfast choices were good, staff were very friendly.

Small but clean room with fridge, good shower, but no microwave. Chocolate kisses in the lobby was an awesome addition for a chocoholic. There was a small, but relatively quiet and efficient space heater. There is no AC, but that is rarely needed in Astoria. My room faced front street, but it was not a problem for noise.

+1
We've been travelling two weeks and Hotel Cathlamet was our last night. What a wonderful experience a fully ADA updated 94-year-old hotel in a small community, with road and ferry acess. Lots of art and art deco furnishings, with new things where they count. Spacious rooms, nice big dining area with lots of snacks and breakfast fixings. Views of the Columbia River. I'd definitely stay here again.

Actually stayed there in September 2014 and it was a wonderful experience. This is a lovely step back in time with scenic views and privacy. It was peaceful and soul enriching. Since the new owners took over they have made some great changes including "pet friendly" status. I highly recommend the Hotel Cathlamet. I will never forget my week there. I was a visitor then- resident now.

This is an old hotel built in the 1920’s which was remodeled a few years ago - inside is very clean and updated except for lobby areas which are decorated to reflect the period the hotel was built. Some of the rooms are small but well appointed and many have great views. Owner/proprietor was wonderful - she was very knowledgeable about the local area and made some excellent suggestions on where to go and what to see. Beautiful back patio has a gas fire pit, a barbecue and sitting area. Common room adjacent to breakfast room was comfortable with a piano, games and plenty of seating choices. Breakfast and snacks are available 24 hours a day - it was nice to have an ice cream treat right before bedtime. Be sure to take the ferry across the River while you are in the area.

We stayed in room 212, which we were delighted to discover looked out over the neighbor's large front-yard koi pond with huge colorful fish. Check-in was easy and fast, and the staff were very friendly. Our room had a comfortable queen bed, a couple of chairs, and a separate sitting area with a futon couch and a desk (which worked well for playing board games in the evening). This is an old, charming building, so if you've never stayed in one, don't expect it to look like a new chain hotel. The hallway floor does creak, but everything is clean and comfortable. They have a good selection of self-serve breakfast items and they leave snacks out as well. They have a common area with seats and bookshelves, and they have a breakfast area and library area with games and videos to borrow. We enjoyed our stay and would do so again.

I really like staying here. I've been twice now, and I think it's something special. Honestly, the first time I stayed here, it was because it was along my way and inexpensive. I was quickly charmed, and on my next visit to the area, it was a first choice destination. It's very comfortable, and there are lots of quality extras. the owners really care about you. There is a good brewery a few blocks away, as well as a store with good meats and seafood, that can be cooked at the hotel. I look forward to staying there again!
