The views at Semiahmoo are stunning! We enjoyed just about everything about our stay. There were so many activities available that we wished we would have booked more than just one night to really experience it all. The outdoor pool was actually warm in April! There were bicycles to ride around, a gym with an indoor track, hot tub, spa, campfires and s'mores at night, beach combing, lots of history to include a small museum just a walk or short bicycle ride down the road. We plan to return in the summer when the ferry is running and the water sports are available. We'll also brind our kids next time. It's great for couples and families. As a bonus, the staff at reception were always friendly and more than willing to assist with guest's needs.
The Front Desk Team was Amazing - friendly and professional. Meal options are very limited, the restaurant/ bar closed at 9:00pm. and there are NO other meal/beverage options around. The kitchen team (cooks) were friendly and accommodating - for food allergy. The bartenders were friendly. The floor server we had on our night one caused us to caution whether we wanted to dine at the restaurant again. So, for lunch the next day we drove back into Blaine WA and had great service at a diner called just a bite. The Spa at this "Resort" was extremely dirty/ foul- so much so it is beyond words; there was so much body hair in the hot tub, the space before the massage rooms appeared as if one was about to enter a broom closet. Overall, just so very uncleanly.
When you stay in a "resort", you expect a resort experience. What we experienced was a lot of mismanaged planning during construction (that we were not told about prior to booking the room) and during a peak level of demand (what we understand was Spring Break.) Even the shampoo/soaps in the room were cheap. The very nice front desk staff was put on the front lines and we felt bad for them having to make excuses for ill-planned construction underway. The water had been turned off for hours and they were not able to let us have our room at the 4 p.m. check in and kept making excuses. The lobby was filled with people with children/luggage awaiting their rooms too. When we finally got a room, the front desk failed to mention the water was still off but it would be on "soon." So we went to the restaurant... one bartender was tending to all tables plus the bar. As you can imagine, service was slow but he kept a great attitude and even made excuses how it would be hard to predict it being so busy on a week night... (don't forget Spring Break).... The meal was quite good. We happily over tipped him, feeling sorry for him having to work so hard. We were in town to conduct business and thought we'd spoil ourselves with a nice resort stay and meal out... very underwhelmed. To sum it up, this is on the management.…
Great stay that included a fun bike ride along the water. Great people that service the facilities and us the visitors. Will definitely do it again and for longer next time around. The room was spacious and I believe that we were in one of the recently updated rooms. I will say that the remodel in the surrounding rooms could be heard, but we were not in the room that much anyway so it was fine. Thank you!
Location and food were great. Room was a little disappointing in that it looked run down. This was the junior suite. Most concerning was the construction/renovation noise starting at 8am. Management was called and all they would do was say "I understand". They did offer an extended check out, but we had already left due to the noise (and why would we want to stay and listen to it more?)
We spent three nights here, after walking through the lobby and eating at Packers a year ago. We returned mostly to enjoy bird watching in Drayton Bay, which did not disappoint. The lobby is lovely, and the staff very friendly. Our room however, was less than grand. We did not need two beds, but couldn't make a change to a room with a single queen or king bed. To get to our room, we had to push our luggage cart up three steps via a metal ramp. A staff person did help us with this. Our view was of pieces of roof, including the roof of a tent which completely blocked our view of Drayton Bay. The bathroom was quite dated, with stained grout in the bath. Packers restaurant was only partially open, unlike last year, when it was fully open, even during the pandemic. Last year, we enjoyed walking the boardwalk around Packers, but this year, it was closed off due to damage, which must have occurred during a storm. The breakfast cafe was also only partially open; one has to go to a small desk to order from a minimal menu, and breakfast is not included in the room rate. The only thing that was better than advertised, was that the internet turned out to be free, although it was advertised as being $25 per day. Tennis is no longer available at this resort. All tennis courts have been converted to pickle ball.…
We had a great time at the resort. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We loved the spa and the services. The scenery was beautiful. The beds were extremely comfortable! We will definitely be back!
Very friendly staff. Great accommodations. The food at Packers lounge was excellent. A little dated but clean and quiet. Renovations on rooms have begun but not an issue.Has saltwater pool that is very clean.
Hotel is dated and apparently as well as the infrastructure. It is not capable of providing typical expectations like hot running water in a timely manner and heat in our room. While the hot water did eventually come the heat never did. I typically expect heat in a room that cost me over $400/night. The staff did immediately provide two small portable heaters which only supports my thought that this is not a unique occurrence. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good and priced as you would expect for a resort. Overall it was a decent experience and views were great from our room. They seem to provide a lot of amenities for families. It is just overpriced for the condition of the accommodations. Some of that price in fairness was driven by a holiday weekend.
Very nice property, friendly staff and overall great value. I would definitely stay here again. Also very nice setting right by the water / beach. Rooms were clean. Ambience in the lobby with the fireplace, pool table and cafe was very nice.
