We had the most amazing vacation! We were concerned after reading recent reviews, and considered cancelling our trip, but decided to give it a try, and we are so glad we did! It was not a fancy resort getaway- there are some areas in need of updating, painting, etc. but we didn’t expect it to be. It was a cozy family retreat with tons of relaxing and fun options that kept our 5 and 8 year old kids engaged for our whole trip. It was also a place where we felt comfortable giving our kids freedom to explore on their own and discover nature without us needing to be right next to them the whole time. The location is amazing. The views were picturesque and we loved watching the tides come in and out and looking across at the Canadian shoreline. We walked the beach at low tide and found so many interesting creatures, rocks and shells. We spent so much quality family time together. Our kids loved the huge board game selection and we played sitting in front of the big windows overlooking the beach. There were a ton of outdoor games like giant chess, corn hole and a bin of toys like frisbees, balls and badminton. We did scavenger hunts inside and outside and the kids loved getting prizes at the end. We borrowed bikes and rode the long bike path and they loved the views and stopping at rock beaches along the bay. We went to a movie every night in the theater and brought our own snacks and drinks. S’mores on the beach in the bonfire pits were lovely too. The pool was ok- it was warm (mid 80s), but still a bit chillier than we would have liked on a windy but sunny day. The hot tub was unfortunately broken and would have been a welcome addition. There were plenty of pool toys to borrow. The room was very large with comfortable beds and soft sheets. The bathroom was remodeled recently with a large shower and newer fixtures. Some of the furniture was older, but overall it was a nice room. The room was clean when we got here and they cleaned it well when they came. The food was delicious at Packers, although it did take a very long time to come out. We had planned for that based on recent reviews, so we did ok. The servers were very attentive and the dining rooms were very nice. All the staff we interacted with were kind, thoughtful and friendly. Overall we loved our experience here. Relaxing, reading books by the fire, playing games and exploring the beach made this a great family getaway.

Bugs in the bathroom, broken hot tub and slow uncaring indifferent staff await you at beautiful Semiahmoo. Restaurants are expensive, menus are limited and after an hour of waiting for a simple breakfast sandwich to only be told we are impatient and the kitchen is slow so we should be more considerate I would encourage you to go elsewhere. The town of Blaine has great restaurants including The Vault for brunch or dinner and Jack Niemann’s Black Forest steakhouse for dinner and CJ’s Beach house for breakfast or lunch. I suggest you save yourself some grief and money, visit this location for a nice walk along the water and keep your get away moving to a different VRBO or hotel in the area.

While the location and the place is simply beautiful, the place is ex-endive, the bathroom is full of bugs and the service is disrespectfully slow. I saw lots of people enjoying the grounds with their own coolers and picnic baskets, that may be the best idea, to think of this place as a nice glamming location, because it is no longer a resort.

This hotel discriminates against my disabled children and we had to file a police report and complaint with the Northwest ADA center. If you want to be mistreated and discriminated them this is the place for you. The staff was uneducated, grossly offensive and lacked basic hotelier service.

Stayed in water view double queen balcony room for two nights. Found someone’s toe nail clippings from prior stay still scattered all over balcony. Disgusting! Told the front desk and nothing was done. After second complaint was told by management that I was being “heard” by lack of their staff basically not doing a good job. So disappointed that they pointed fingers but didn’t offer to come up and clean/ sweep them off or offer some kind of refund.

We stayed for 2 says in the water view patio room. The cleanliness of the room was not quite on the par - lots of spots have been missed and floor was quite dirty even after the housekeeping. Perhaps they are understaffed. Don’t think they are mopping the floor, at least once in a while. So we had to lay down towels since we have a toddler who likes to play on the floor. No complimentary bottled waters (at least) considering there is a daily resort fee, and it was supposed to be kids friendly but very strong smell of marijuana everyday from somewhere so we couldn’t keep the patio door and door windows open to get fresh air - it was the reason we visited.

The space is gorgeous, the rooms are nice and comfortable, and the price for a seaview room in February would be hard to beat (probably a third of other WA resorts with the Feb special deal). As other reviews indicate, the resort seems to have some management issues to work out, with lots of problems popping up (broken hot tub, very long waits for food - both before and after being seated at Packers). The staff was very friendly and kind and seemed specially trained to maintain grace under pressure in the face of guest frustrations. The hot tub was also closed during our visit, and the pool was too cold for anyone but the most intrepid pre-teens. We'd try Semiahmoo again in a few years and hope these things get ironed out. I think if you've booked a room, just take along some snacks to fill your mini-fridge, and order all your food from Packers and the cafe "to go" so you're not waiting inside the restaurant. Embrace a flexible attitude and roll with it. Then you can enjoy playing on the beach, flying kites. running and bike riding on the path, and heading into Blaine for takeout and ice cream and have a great stay.

The location was pleasant, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The services, food, pool, and hot tub all fell short of our expectations. As a group of six families celebrating a birthday event, we encountered several issues. The restaurant provided poor service, even separating our checks. The pool’s low temperature during winter led to us catching colds. Some of our rooms had malfunctioning furnaces, and the hot tub remained closed during our stay. Additionally, we found dirty towels in our room. Overall, it was a negative experience, and we won’t be returning
