Viewmont Manor was built in 2000 as our family home. Our children have grown and each have their own home now, so we are inviting you to come and enjoy the house with us. We have a distant view of Bellingham Bay to the west. Our bedrooms face the east, which makes them very peaceful and quiet. Each bedroom looks out over our garden from its own private balcony. Each room has an electric fire place in the winter and a remote control standing fan in the summer. Scones and coffee/tea are available every morning right outside your bedroom door. A full breakfast is later served in our dining room downstairs. We have a cozy library stocked with books for your enjoyment. The view from the library is one of the best. If you are interested in our rooms but they appear to be booked, please give us a call and we will try our best to accommodate your needs. Please note on the map below that there is no entry to 38th St from the south. We live at the dead end of the street from the north. What looks like Knox St on the map is actually a creek. So, you'll have to drive up Ridgemont and turn right onto 38th St.

We have stayed at Viewmont Manor twice and it gets better each time because we've been able to stay longer. The bedrooms are comfortable and well fitted out, the scones each morning are a real treat and the breakfasts are sumptuous. We will definitely go back again, hopefully

My friend and I stayed here for two nights. Our bedrooms were very comfortable and roomy. Each had a very nice bathroom with a sink and vanity, and a small walk in closet. Also each bedroom had a small balcony overlooking a beautiful garden. Outside our rooms was a large

Ah, Janette...your review was just the thing I needed to hear this morning. I've had a few days off and it's hard to get back in the groove. But your words helped immensely! Thanks so much. I hope you'll be back!

This was our second stay at Viewmont Manor. The comfort, friendliness and location are great. It is a quiet, peaceful, residential location. We chose this B & B in part because it is close to WWU. Fairhaven is a few minutes away by car, as are stores and eateries. The

Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived and had help carrying our luggage upstairs. The scones and breakfasts were delicious, the room very attractive and clean, the bed was very comfort and the second floor lounge area so lovely we wanted to spend all day there

Viewmont Manor is located in a suburban area of Bellingham, rather than the downtown. It is a modern, gracious, and quiet home, with a separate guest lounge and library. The library may have been my favorite amenity, as the owner even allows you to take a book! Our breakfast

Our breakfast was included in the quoted price, yes. We were also served warm, fresh-baked scones outside our door 1 hour before our breakfast was ready. What a way to start our morning. Do ask the owner about this so you receive the most accurate information. We were, of course, just guests. Breakfast, to me, was just as big a charm for our whole stay as the location, comfort, warmth, and reception.

I'm sorry, but all our rooms are on the second story. The apartment has an outside entrance as well as being accessible inside the house.

Our bed and breakfast is set in a real neighborhood, but at the end of a "dead end" street so it is very quiet. Many guests take off from here and walk up the hill behind us to view Bellingham Bay from an even higher vantage point. We also have a lovely lake just a mile south of us that has a 2.7mile walking trail around it. It is a county park, so there are no houses, and no motor boats on the lake. It is quite pristine. Everything else in Bellingham is about a 7 minute drive from our house: Whatcom Falls Park, with many, many trails to walk, plus of course the falls themselves which are lovely. Whatcom County believes in creating green spaces so we enjoy lots and lots of walking trails, the Interurban Trail, the trail from Fairhaven Village to downtown Bellingham which runs in part on the water…literally, they have built the walkway over the water. There are also outdoor sculpture exhibits: Western Washington University has a map of all their sculpture, and we enjoy the Big Rock Garden at the top of Alabama Hill which is a garden and sculpture combination. We have a lovely old restored theater called the Mount Baker Theater…Joan Biaz had a concert there last week. We have museums (the Spark Museum gets the best reviews from my guests. It's a museum of electricity and they have "shows" twice a week.) and art galleries and music venues. And we have many new and wonderful "breweries" popping up where they make their beer on sight and serve quite wonderful pub food. A trip to Mt Baker is always a good choice if the weather is decent or if the sky is clear. When you get to the top of Mt Baker you will see Mt Shuksan, which is the most photographed mountain in the world (says the woman who lives here!) Thanks for your questions and inquiries. My husband and I travel often with one to four other couples and I think it's a splendid way to travel. And on that note, our bed and breakfast does have additional options available for rent. We have a total of 5 options: The two listed on our website and three other choices. One is a beautifully appointed apartment attached to our 2nd story. We also have two rooms down the hall which share a bathroom across the hall. These rooms are between the ensuite rooms and the apartment. As of today, I charge $150.00 a night for the apartment. It has just one bedroom (with a queen bed) and one bath but it has a full kitchen and living room with a chaise couch that turns into a very comfortable queen bed. We built this apartment about 7 years ago, and our daughter and her husband lived there for 4 years before recently buying a home. We have started calling it the Bayview Suite because there is a lovely view of Bellingham Bay from the living room. It has a gas fireplace. It is a lovely space. Another option is to rent the apartment and one of the rooms down the hall. The ones without an ensuite are currently $100.00 a night. So, for $250.00/night you and your friends would have all the conveniences of the apartment in which you could cook and dine-in and watch a little tv or play cards at night, and a little space to be separate as well. It is early morning as I write this, and I am beginning to sound like a sales person, so I'd better stop. I'll look forward to hearing more from you. Betty, innkeeper and cook
