What are remarkable little place. I’ve just spent the last five days here and wise visiting Dunn Green at the Napoleon Hill Foundation and it has been amazing.
The locals have been friendly, accommodating and fun .
The staff at the Wise we were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble and they all deserve to be credited with their commitment to the jobs.
Will definitely be back

We had planned a week long trip to the area for vacation! I chose to book one day at The Inn at Wise. After checking in and settling in we were so impressed with the property we ask to extend our stay by a night. High praise to all the staff and a special special shout out to our new friend Laken.
She was so helpful sharing recommendations for some restaurants, sights to explore.
She was a joy and an outstanding asset to The Inn at Wise!
Would"t be surprised to see were running the place some day!

My daughter and I arrived after midnight following a full day of travel and events. Having never been in the area before, I was a little nervous about how safe it was to arrive so late. My concerns were quickly dismissed when we arrived in this quaint town and parked directly in front of this absolutely beautiful inn. The gentleman at the front desk was so welcoming and quickly got us checked into our room. The inside of the building is as beautiful as the outside. We went up an exquisite set of wide wooden stairs and arrived in our extremely clean and beautiful room. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We loved all the historic details in the room from the deep windowsills to the transom window. In the morning, when we forgot a couple of odds and ends, my daughter went down to the front desk and the woman searched through several drawers to find the needed items. Before getting back on the road, we grabbed coffee and a muffin which we enjoyed on the second-floor balcony overlooking the town. As we were leaving with our arms full of luggage, the cleaning staff was coming in and they even offered their assistance us in getting to our car. We truly appreciate the pride The Inn at Wise takes in their customer experience!

Excellent staff and a nice vintage inn, but I wish that's all I had to say. Upon entering my room, I noticed how hot the room was. Turns out the AC was broken and that it would be 30-60 days before the parts came in. A guest services rep informed me that they're notorious for having faulty air in the summer and faulty heat in the winter, and that it would be about a million dollar fix. They did provide me with a fan that got me through the night but a stuffy and restless night it was indeed. The following morning, the manager assured me that a window unit would be awaiting my arrival and indeed it was. Secondly but usually first in my lodging complaints, was that the nice inviting-looking king sized bed was hard as a rock! That alone as my premise to whether I ever again patronize a location or not...affirms the fact that I'll pass by this place next time. I highly recommend at least some sort of pillow top mattress with a little cushion. The restaurant breakfast is an additional fee which definitely makes the price to stay here not at all worth it.

I was thrilled when the Inn at Wise opened. I had hoped the Inn would eventually be like the Martha Washington in Abingdon, but I doubt this will ever happen with the current adminstration. We have always enjoyed staying there, but this last stay I was disappointed by several things. The staff was friendly, but they were understaffed which is a problem in America in general at the moment. The Manager was not friendly. Being understaffed though is not an excuse to allow your employees to smoke on the front porch. The ashtrays were always full. There were also guests with coolers of beer on the front porch. We went up to the balcony one evening and there were beer bottles and trash and again ashtrays filled with butts. The dining services not being available is definitely a negative. There are scuff marks on the walls, stains on the carpet and general maintenance is lacking. It is a real shame that the County isn't doing a better job with this facility.

We've stayed at the Inn several times and it has always been a great experience. Sadly, this recent visit missed the mark.
We were in town for a family reunion and looking forward to staying at the Inn during our visit.
When we arrived, we were given a room on the third floor. Be advised that there is no elevator service to the third floor and the stairs are steep. This was definitely concerning as my husband was recovering from a knee replacement and we were given no information that there was stair only access.
The room itself is a renovated attic with a view of the AC units on the roof and a weird cushiony feeling on the shower floor that does not feel secure.
These things were disappointing but not a deal breaker.
The most concerning part of this stay...I overlooked an expensive and well loved shirt hanging on the inside of the bathroom door when we left to return back to our home.
As soon as I realized I left the shirt, I contacted the hotel to see if I could come back and pick it up as we were still in the area.
I was told by the person that answered my call that she would check the room to see if she could find it and she would call me right back. She never called and we had to head back to Nashville with no response from the hotel. I called the hotel the next three days in a row and was told every time that someone would call me back, no one ever has.
This room was almost $200.00 for one night. The accommodations were subpar and the dishonesty is unacceptable.
We are so disappointed with this hotel.

Connie, we apologize on every level. We strive hard daily to give our guests a clean, safe experience. Megan, our Front Office is trying to locate your shirt now to see if it was turned in. I pride myself on saying that theft has never been an issue to my knowledge and I am sure there is an explanation. In the event you find your shirt please let us know, that happens more than you think. If you're back in town please give us a chance to make it right, and speak with me personally. I will do my best to make it up to you. Sincerely, Amy Phillips.

I was in charge of planning our annual Harley trip with three of my friends. We ride hard all day and like to stay at a fine hotel that has a bar and fine dining.
When I came across The Inn in Wise, I thought this would fit the bill completely.
Their website header states "Dine in southern style restaurants" The website goes on to say " Both the Corner Diner and The Pub and Tap Room are favorites of Wise VA residents"
In addition, when you check in, they have a banner in the lobby that shows the restaurant with its fine linen tablecloths.
Well once we checked in, I asked where the bar and restaurants noted in the website where, and I was informed that they were all "closed"
When I asked when they closed, they said over a YEAR ago!
They have continued to misrepresent their property by failing to change, or make a note on their website.
I spoke with the manager, and the area manager for the Newport Hospitality Group that owns the Inn, and the gave us each $50 credit.
They said they would change the website, but as I prepare this review, 10 days after our stay, the website still has not been changed.
Its hard to understand how a reputable Hospitality group could continue to misrepresent their property.

From the outside flowers to the rocking chairs on the porch, this is a beautiful hotel. They have parking behind the hotel, carts are available, there is an elevator from the ground floor to the first or second floor. Rooms are nicely done, beds comfy. We were here to judge a BBQ contest which was held in their ballroom. Wow! Judging BBQ in an air-conditioned room with chandeliers and nice chairs! We also loved walking Main Street and hearing music in the Glades. Our only suggestion is to know that breakfast is continental, and a little on the weaker side. They did have a waffle maker, bottled juices, and individually wrapped pastries.

The Inn at Wise is the best option for this area. It’s not currently providing full services so the experience is limited. Restaurant and bar are closed with no indication of when they will reopen. Room service is by request only.

This is a 100 year old facility and comes with all the charm and quirkiness you should expect. Some of the floors are not completely level and some doors must be pulled tight to close. There are a few outside seating areas including the front porch, a balcony overlooking Main Street, a brick surfaced veranda on the back of the property, and another on the right side of the building adjacent to the closed diner. Our group gathered in these areas and enjoyed our own drinks and fellowship.

It’s the best option in the area, but service at the time of this writing is only a C+.

No pool. You don't want to stay at one of the "chain" places. You get cookie cutter stuff there. The Inn is historic, clean, and great food at a good price. The kids can swim the rest of time but slow down and smell the roses.
