Historic Williamsburg's only downtown lodging. The Fife & Drum Inn is adjacent to the shops and restaurants of Merchants Square and just a short walk from the heart of historic Colonial Williamsburg. William & Mary, the country's second chartered college, is across the street. Our guests consistently tell us we are the perfect cross between a small "boutique" hotel and a bed and breakfast. Inn keepers and owners Sharon and Billy Scruggs were born and raised in Williamsburg and are most adept at helping you to make the most of your visit. Some of the best restaurants in Williamsburg (maybe Virginia) are located with in a block. Convenient to most everything you could want in Williamsburg

We absolutely loved our stay at the Fife and Drum. We took a much needed getaway with just my husband and I are being stuck at home for several months due to COVID, and we could not have picked a better hotel for our stay. There were bars and restaurants right outside of the hotel, and all museums and colonial buildings were about a block or two away. They offered a great COVID friendly continental breakfast, and our fave, fresh cookies available all day! The room was so lovely and because of the small number of rooms, it was always very quiet. Billy and Sharon were so kind and knowledgeable about the area and offered plenty of suggestions of things for first timers to do. We cannot wait to get back to this wonderful hotel!

Property's Favorite Review
The Fife and Drum is excellently located and a joy to visit. The room was wonderful, breakfast was fantastic and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We have stayed in numerous locations throughout Williamsburg and this will definitely be our new go-to for future accommodation needs.

My husband and I (along with my mom and dad) spent two nights at the Fife and Drum Bed and Breakfast and we could not have been more happy with our accommodations. The F&D is right in the heart of downtown and exactly where you need to stay if you want to be a part of old-time Williamsburg. We were steps away from the best restaurants and from the nicest shopping. So much fun! My dad can't walk very far, but the convenience of where we stayed made it possible for us to easily make reservations and walk to our dinner. The inn was comfortable and VERY clean. We felt safe with their Covid protocols and were happy with their amenities. If you're looking for a quick get-a-way and nice place to stay, then check out Williamsburg and the Fife and Drum B&B!

We planned a last minute trip and arrived late. Billy had everything waiting on us to get in and settled. The room was beautiful! The muffin tops were delicious! Billy had suggestions to get most out of our trip.

We stayed at the Fife and Drumm to see the local attractions. The location cannot be beat, with shopping, restaurants and Colonial Williamsburg literally just steps away. Close, free parking was a huge perk. The innkeeper, Billy, was so Accommodating and knowledgeable, and he gave great recommendations for food and entertainment. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.
