Other Hampton Inn stays have been much better in terms of service and ammentities. This one compares poorly with another Hampton in the same area. I was disappointed, comparitively speaking. However, the bed linens were clean and compfortable.

I’m writing this review while staying at this hotel. The good: Comfortable beds and friendly staff. Everything worked a it should. The bad: Dated hotel. Heater in room didn’t work. Smaller than other Hampton Inn rooms I’ve stayed (I had the suite and my suite is the size of a typical regular Hampton inn room) Far from the restaurants. The Ugly: We booked this hotel since our team was staying here. Our room got canceled without any notification. No call, no text or email. This also happened to some of the other team mates. Came to find out, they do this regularly. Hotel starts selling out and they cancel rooms and it seems so that they can charge more for that room. Ended up booking the smaller room, at the same hotel for $150 more for two nights. When asked, they said it is a management policy. I think the owners of this hotel should find a new management company. Until then, I highly recommend passing on this Hampton Inn and staying on the other three in Williamsburg or risk coming to check in to find out you do not have a room unless you pay more.

I've stayed at this Hampton Inn a number of times and agree with the consensus that it is 'OK'. I'm here to visit relatives and don't need anything high-end and the price is usually pretty reasonable. I'll also pass on that a number of the staff, both at the desk and breakfast area, do their job well. That out of the way I was very disappointed in our last stay, and the fault is more on the management than the staff in general. We arrived in the evening, around 7, and were well greeted by the front desk staff who just took our credit card and passed on our key. Our room seemed 'OK' and we unpacked and settled in for our stay. When it came time for a shower, however, we found there was no hot water - what? Going down to the front desk we were THEN told by the front desk staff that there was indeed no hot water for the entire hotel, it had been a problem for hours, they were trying to find someone to fix it, and that 'the manager' would be in the next morning to see what he/she could do and address any 'compensation'. Great. We considered moving hotels but at that time of night who wants to bother (just what the manager hoped, I assume) - we decided to stay and perhaps settle for cold showers in the morning. I can't believe we weren't told of this problem the moment we arrived, before starting the whole check-in process. No notes on the front door or front desk and definitely no verbal warning from the same front desk staff during check-in. (I wasn't upset so much that the water heater was broken - these things happen). Initially my anger was directed at the front desk personnel - but then I realized (OK assume) that the 'no warning' direction came from the manager - hey don't warn people so they won't go away. The next morning the hot water was back and upon checkout I asked about compensation. The front desk person didn't profess to know much, charged my credit card the full amount, and made a note to pass along to the manager. No shock to find that 5 days later I've yet to hear from him/her nor find a credit card adjustment. Very poor job on the part of the manager.

Clean, quiet and comfortable! Conveniently located in the heart of Williamsburg it is a great place to stay for families. There is a nice Hampton Inn breakfast area as well as a nice indoor pool. We stayed here in 3 rooms with eight people. Grand parents and adult children.

This was by far the worst Hampton Inn location that I have stayed in, and it is usually my preferred brand in this price range. First, The outside of the hotel is unbelievably dark. The sign in front of the hotel is not even illuminated and the parking lot lights are sparse and dim. The area is not bad but it is not the best and has a sketchy motel right next door, so this was off putting. We had completed online checkin, but a stop by the desk was required (not a big deal). My digital key was never sent to my phone, even after providing the necessary information at the front desk. Once we started to make our way to our two rooms, we were made uncomfortable by the state of the elevators. They were loud, unstable, and there were words carved into the panels. This was the first time that it really set in that this was not going to be a good experience. When we got to our rooms, one of the doors would literally stick to the doorframe, requiring that we basically bodyslam the door just to get it open - It was every bit as dramatic and loud as that sounds. Once finally inside the room, we were greeted by odd smells in both rooms (My guess is that they were trying to cover up that someone was smoking in the rooms previously). We were staying multiple nights, so naturally we needed additional towels and washcloths. I was not particularly satisfied when I called and was told that we would need to come to the front desk for extra items. I would also be very curious to know if the seemingly lower quality toiletries than the standard Hilton Neutrogena in the room is a switch all Hamptons will be adopting or if it is a cost saving measure at this location. Pros: The breakfast was good and the employees are generally pleasant. Overall, I would tell anyone looking for a hotel in the Williamsburg area to go elsewhere. You do not get the standard Hampton Inn quality here.

So overall the hotel was OK. We’ve stayed here in the past many times just because of the closeness to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg so we knew what to expect. Plenty of delicious pancakes houses and local restaurants near by The Good: The staff at the front desk was very attentive to our needs. The size of our room was spacious (two Queen Bed Suite). Getting to pick our room (423) and actually getting the room we picked which doesn’t always happen. The beds were very comfortable, the shower was very refreshing water was powerful but not to powerful. Plenty of outlets / USB ports AC unit very powerful with cool air. The Bad: The decor is very tired looking. Ever since we’ve been coming there has been no updates (and we’ve been staying at the hotel for at least 10 years). In our room there seemed to be some water damage; it looked like it was repaired recently but looked like a quick patch job. The closet door was broken and that was the only full lengthy mirror. There were tiles in the bathroom that came off the wall and a tile on the floors were loose as well. We had mentioned this to the front desk and they said “oh maintenance was aware of this” and that they would come up to fix the closet door but would fix the ceiling after we left. No maintenance came up to our room to fix the closet door. There was also a urine like smell coming from the AC unit when it would turn on. Housekeeping: Has not returned to normal since Covid so you need to request it by 12:00 the day of. When we did have housekeeping they did a very nice job. Breakfast: options were OK nothing fancy. Seating was limited it was packed. The breakfast attendant was not helpful. I had spilled my waffle and syrup and told the attendant and all he did was wipe it up with a napkin not a mop; It made the floor very sticky. Pool: did not use but heard it was small and water was cloudy from other guests Business Center: N/A - did not use Laundry: N/A - did not use Stayed July 29 - August 5th I do not believe the room is worth the 193.00 dollars plus tax that was charged per night until rooms are updated

The hotel is close to the colonial area and easy access to the amusement parks by car. We chose it to fit our budget as we had come for the amusement parks and to visit the colonial area. It is surrounded by older hotels and the hotel was a bit run down itself. The room was clean. The beds were fair, firm and small for two adults. The TV, fridge and microwave were nice to have in the room. There were signs of water damage in the room and hallways. One of the pictures in the room was warped from a leak or humidity in the room. The hallway on our floor did not seem to have air-conditioning. One of the elevators was briefly out of service during out visit. The AC in the room was loud and rumbly all night. The hotel staff was friendly but we used the app to check in and out. We had very little interaction with them except to inform them a light was out in the room and the bathroom toilet was not functioning. They fixed the issue during the day for us without incident. Housekeeping only comes if you request it. Breakfast offered a good variety and was free, which is always nice. Parking is free and convenient.

This hotel is really nice and in a great location! We were traveling from MO and ended up having to get brakes and rotors replaced when we arrived. Instead of our whole family waiting 2-3 hours at NTB, the hotel gave us a card to use the pool while we waited for our room and they let us check in early. They easily could have made my kids and I just wait in the lobby but it was so much easier allowing my boys to swim while we waited. We had a 2 queen suite. The room was very affordable especially for how nice it is. The room was very clean and a nice large space for a family. The whole hotel was super clean and the staff was friendly. This is the best hotel we have stayed at and would highly recommend.
