So My family and I are staying at this resort tomorrow for my birthday for a week. I called customer service to ask if I can make a reservation to go to the pool tomorrow being that I’m checking in tomorrow and it’s my birthday, I was told no. Not just no because I have to check in before I can make a reservation. Ok- fine. I can’t used the pool when I check in. Then, I was told I also can’t use the pool the next day (Saturday), because you have to wait 24 hours after check in to make a pool reservation!!! This is ridiculous!!!! So I plan on checking in tomorrow, but maybe I can use the pool if I call early enough like 7am on Saturday to reserve a spot for Sunday.. I just think this is irritating. If it’s first come, first serve.. then do that but waiting 2 days just to make a reservation for the pool is so absurd.. and that’s if I’m lucky to get a reservation by 9am. I plan on updating this review during/after my trip. I already have a bad feeling about this but I’m hoping for the best.

Scott seems like a nice guy, and this is not his fault as he is renting out his time share through airbnb at Wyndham Kingsgate Resort. The morning I checked out I had 30-40 bed bug bites (confirmed by a doctor the next day I got back home). I contacted Thomas Calametia the General Manager of the Wyndham Kingsgate Resort and Joe Burns the assistant manager both via email (and Thomas via voicemail since he is never available to take a phone call per the front desk) and told them the situation. No one from Wyndham even bothered to email or call me back, guess they don't care about their guests! I even told them I was not looking to sue them, just make sure they take care of the bed bug situation in the room so no one else goes through what I have. And if they can do something nice for me (like comp my stay and give me a few bucks for all the pain and hassle I have gone through) that would be appreciated. I also emailed airbnb about a safety problem, no one from airbnb has contacted me back either. FYI found out that the health department does not police private lodging location like airbnb, only hotels etc. that are public, which seems insane to me! So anyone that is thinking of doing an airbnb in the future keep that in mind, and SUPER carefully check the mattress for bed bugs (I've never had a bed bug bite in my life so I didn't know to do that).

Looking over the reviews, we planned this vacation a year ago - got here, half of electrical outlets don't work, dryer doesn't dry, internet VERY sporadic, no jacuzzi tub like other resorts. Noise from other visitors very irritating - you can hear everything they do and smell their pipe smoke in a SMOKELESS resort. Due to COVID-19, they are only allowing people to use the pool by reservation - showed up and there were only 3 people at the pool - other reservations didn't show up but they wouldn't let one person in (even until others came) and could only get 2 hour long pool times in a weeks' stay. Upon check in they had us wait because they were replacing a broken chair on the balcony. Got in and the chair was not replaced - still broken. Our first summer vacation in 9 years and it was only nice when we left the resort. Furniture TOTALLY uncomfortable. So frustrated as we had to pay to combine two years' worth of points, plus our exchange fees and it wasn't nearly as nice as any other resort in the exchange - will NEVER stay at a Wyndham Resort again.

We have been stuck in our home since March and looking forward to this getaway. We had a really good stay, although I would suggest a few improvements. First the good... The staff checked us in quickly and were very friendly. Probably because of COVID, we were not harassed to attend a sales pitch. This was a big plus. We were in building 11, and had a 3 bedroom lock off unit, meaning a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom combined. We had tons of space, 2 kitchens, and the rooms were pretty nice. The balcony overlooked a lake with ducks and turtles, very peaceful and quiet. The mini golf was open and was great, we were able to make pool reservations and the pool area was nice (more about that in the cons). It’s in a great location, not too far from anything but still tucked away enough to have quiet. The other guests that we encountered all wore masks and practiced physical distancing, and it was really a great time. We had an issue where our dishwasher wasn’t working. We called maintenance and someone was there within minutes. Our water valve was apparently shut off. We ran the dishwasher and left our unit. Upon return, the floor was covered in water. Called maintenance again, and they were there again within minutes and we had a new dishwasher within the hour. The service here was really top notch. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. You won’t get better service anywhere else. Now the bad ( or maybe it should be called room for improvement because it really wasn’t bad). The pool was a big deal for us, we came here to use the pool and be out of our home. We checked in on a Wednesday and when we did we asked about the pool. We were told it’s open but you have to make reservations. So I asked to make reservations and was told that reservations are made the day before and there was no availability for that Wednesday or Thursday. So we woke up at 6am on Thursday to make pool reservations for Friday. You get 1.5 hours at the pool and have your choice of 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm. I totally understand limiting the pool may not even be something that Wyndham controls, and I appreciate the concern for our safety. I would have liked to see maybe same day reservations that open in the morning. I feel like we missed an entire day of vacation because we weren’t able to go to the pool. I know they are doing their best and trying to figure things out, but it would be helpful to allow guests with a shorter stay, the ability to make pool reservations before their departure. We stayed from Wednesday to a Sunday and were only able to get 2 days of pool time. Since this was a big draw for us choosing this resort, that sucked for us. Again, I understand why, I just think the reservation system could be done a bit better. Other than the pool reservation system, I would suggest this information be somewhere available so when you book, you would know how this works. I got several texts prior to arrival and none mentions this. It would have been helpful. That being said, all of the staff was great and we enjoyed our time here. We would recommend the resort and will be back.

My 14 yo son and I stayed here for a week. I have been a Wyndham Owner for over 29 years. This is the first time ever staying at a Wyndham resort that I did get harassed by “Guest Relations” about scheduling a time to do a “Owners Update” which everyone knows is code for, let’s try to sell them more points! Finally was never approached, called, nor got the knock on the door! Thank you! When I’m on vacation the last thing I want to do is eat up part of my vacation time listening to a sales pitch! The accommodations were very nice, clean, and adequate. The staff was also very nice. We stayed here during the pandemic and the staff all wore masks and applied the social distance requirement. You had to reserve a pool time each day which was understandable to keep down the number of people at one time. The only negative was an “owner” that immediately felt she needed to police us as we entered the “adult pool” that this was only for adults and we are to be quiet! This was the pool the staff assigned us to and the only one making noise was her yakking non-stop! She made it to where it was uncomfortable and unenjoyable. Guess she thought since they’ve stayed there for multiple weeks she had the right to make assumptions and police everyone. She was the only negative we had about our stay for the week.
