Nice little quiet place away from the hotel district in Williamsburg so it was a lot quieter than the stays I had in the district. It's set back a little from a major highway behind a wonderful pancake house and fairly close to the interstate. Showers are clean and you get a fridge/ microwave in the room. There's laundry machines on site too.

It is a great economy motel geared more for longer stays as you get weekly room service. I don't need someone to pick up after me daily, so it was great. The building changed owners and management about a year before I stayed and they've been renovating the rooms, so newer reviews seem more relevant. The management is wonderful ... the best I've ever experienced. The rooms come with a microwave, a fridge, a single bed and a bunk bed. It sits right next to a wonderful breakfast/ lunch restaurant with 12 inch pancakes and is appropriately titled Astronomical Pancakes, which my son loved almost as much as Busch Gardens.

I recently stayed in Williamsburg, VA for two weeks. I found the Pineapple Inn & Housing Center to be exactly what I like. When I travel I prefer to stay in hostels and lower budget places and spend my money on the experience. The room I stayed in was a private room even though it had a full size bed and a bunk bed in it. It was clean and offered both a microwave and refrigerator as well as a private bathroom. I visited Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown & Yorktown as well as driving to visit the Virginia Marine Museum and Nauticus. The hotel was centrally located and was great. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. I am hoping to come back to Williamsburg at the end of this year for Grand Illumination and will definitely stay at the Pineapple Inn & Housing Center on my return.

I've been staying at the Pineapple Inn for 4 months, and now I'm really thankful that I have chosen it. It is definitely more than just a place to make it through the night. The staff is very friendly, the room and the linen were clean, the pool was fresh and tidy. At the same time it was not hot during the summer, because the AC works in a good way. The location is also good. The outlet mall and the shops are in a walking distance. As well as the bust stop in case you don't have a car. It is easy to get to the historical part of the city. A huge thanks to the manager of Pineapple Amy, who made the time there a pleasure for me, and other students. I would recommend this place as one the few where you can actually enjoy the time.

I have been staying here at Pineapple Inn for Couple months and was surprised at the high quality of service received. I was able to meet with Amy, the owner, head of maintenance and most of the assistants. I have seen first hand with my own eyes the detail that goes into EVERYSINGLE room. All rooms now have New double pillow top matresses. New fresh linens regularly. They are HAVE a very large pool right in the middle of the complex away from traffic. The free WiFi is extremely fast no matter where you go on the property and its just down the road from Bush Gardens, Great Wolf Lodge and many other wonderful attractions Williamsburg has to offer. I have never seen a single bug ant or anything. It's not run by most people that run similar places like Pineapple Inn. If you have a concern they won't give you a hard time they fix it. Also the price is surprisingly cheap compare to many other places and for what you receive. I have friends who come for school and I can say every room I have been in SMELLS fresh and never like stale cigarettes. Amy goes above and beyond to help others even on a full schedule she doesn't forget your request and always follows through. All in all its a pretty awesome place. in the summer it's even better lots of people from all over the world hanging out by the people getting to know each other. No worry here of running into drug addicts or DRUNKS. Come check it out.

bed bugs everywhere! the worst thing is that they travel with human and you can treat them as much as you like, they won't die anyway. Pretty much all you can do is: go to the shower wash yourself and run away naked to a better place. ALL the stuff must be treated in high temp dryers before you take it home with you. They can be very small and transparent which makes them be invisible! also, i got there athlete's foot...

Response from PIHC_Manager, Manager at Pineapple Inn and Housing Center
Responded Nov 29, 2012
We are very perplexed by this report. Why is it being reported just now, when the guest supposedly stayed in June? We received no complaints from any guest during that time of year related to pest of any kind. We also could not find a record of a guest with that name. Perhaps they have us confused with another property. The Pineapple Inn & Housing Center handles all reports of any pests or issue very seriously. We have a set protocol for pest that includes contacting our Pest Control Specialist (who is on retainer and inspects the property regularly) immediately and treating all rooms for pests, regardless of whether or not we see evidence of the pests. Rooms are generally treated withing 24 hours of the first report and given a follow-up treatment 10-14 days later. Our specialist will then follow up with the guests (if they are still here) each time he comes out for our monthly treatment.

When I arrived with my 3 very young children we went to the room. It was so hot and when I turned on what appeared to be an airconditioner it blew out the most fowl smelli ng stench you could ever imagine. It was supposed to be non smoking but there we cigerrettes all the way down the terrace to our room and all over the ground in front of our door. My children quickly went to the bathroom while I was standing their in shock at what I had booked for the night. I pulled the bedspreads off to check the conditions of the linens and there was hair and stains. The room was the most disgusting room I have ever seen in any hotel I have ever stayed at. I called down to the front desk and told the clerk that I could not stay there because of the smell and the condition of the room. She said come down for a refund and I did after hauling 3 kids and luggage down the stairs. She quickly refunded the money and apologized. I went to the Marriott and had an excellent experience. I just recieved my credit card statement and they charged me $70.00 for pullling the beds spreads off the bed and using the bathroom. I have made 5 phone calls to speak with the manager that is NEVER on duty. I will dispute the charges thru my credit card and hopefully forget about it all together. The manager has not returned my call and I dont believe that he intends to. Please DO NOT ever stay at this filthy dirty pitiful excuse of a hotel. AAA needs to be notified because somehow they approved this hotel. I would rather have slept in my car than that dump.

I was afraid of staying at the Pineapple Inn after reading the review on Trip Advisor, however other friends had stayed at the hotel and said it was fine. So I stayed with my two friends for 3 nights. The hotel is not new, and we knew this, so we were happy to find that they had clean linens, comfortable beds, complimentary wireless internet access and also a microwave & refrigerator in the room. When we checked in we were given the on-call phone number in case we needed anything after the front desk closed. The hotel is not fancy, but it was clean and very convenient to other locations. Give this hotel a chance if you are looking for inexpensive, and not fancy.
