My wife booked at Governor's Trace for our 4th of July getaway and it far exceeded my expectations. Dick and Sue are very warm, friendly and welcoming. We stayed at the Baron de Botetourt room, a very accommodating and spacious room. Breakfast was beyond compare, and the presentation was spectacular. Dick was extremely helpful with tips for visiting Colonial Williamsburg... More

Spent a pleasant weekend in Williamsburg with the Governors' Trace B7B as our base. Pre season crowds ie. lack of crowds made this the perfect time to visit. Since we have spent other visits there we were please to see nothing has changed. Our hosts were as gracious as ever. Breakfast as always was freshly prepared with fruit and a... More

My Husband and I booked a 2-night stay at this B&B for Valentine's Day and we were so pleased we went with Governor's Trace! Dick & Sue, the Innkeepers, were hospitable, helpful, and just super nice! Once we arrived, Dick made us feel quite welcome and immediately recommended places to eat for dinner that night. We stayed in the Alexander... More

The Governors Trace was amazing experience, breakfast in the morning was delicious, quick walk to Colonial Williamsberg and so close to great food. Dick and Sue were very helpful and informative. The weekend was amazing and the ambiance was very patriotic. We will definitely visit and keep in contact with Dick and Sue.

This Bed and Breakfast run by Dick and Sue is very nice. You CANNOT beat the location as it just steps away from Colonial Williamsburg and all that it has to offer. Breakfast is delicious and served in your room, a nice change from some large communal breakfasts we've had over the years. We chatted with Dick and Sue a... More

B&B owner gave a great recommendation for a restaurant, The Whaling Co...Delicious! Our room was large and clean. Very quiet. Loved the candlelight breakfast served in our room. Very short walk to Colonial Williamsburg.

Our stay with Sue and Dick was wonderful! the food was excellent, the accommodations were spacious and beautifully decorated. Plus the bed was most comfortable. it was a very short walk to the historic district which made it very convenient.

This was our first time staying at the Governor's Trace. The "kids" Ryan and Melanie took great care of us since Dick and Sue were away. They were very courteous and engaging, and made us feel quite at home. We certainly got the royal treatment and were even sent home with goodie bags! The food was excellent, especially the pecan... Thank you so much for your kind remarks. We were delighted to know, as were our “kids,” that they hit a “home run” their first time “at bat.” We have always tried to follow what we believe is the best definition of B&B Innkeepers: People taking good care of good people. More

We just enjoyed a three night stay at the Governor's Trace B&B and could not be happier with our choice. We were welcomed warmly by Dick & Sue (despite arriving very late at night due to delayed flights!), and shown our beautifully appointed room (Baron de Botetourt) with all the conveniences you might want. Very spacious, too. In the morning,... More

My wife and I celebrated our Anniversary in Williamsburg and chose Governor's Trace for our stay. We were very happy with our choice. We stayed in the Alexander Spottswood room. It was spacious with a fireplace, Dick had the fire rebuilt each day so we could light it each night. Dick and Sue provided some great recommendations for restaurants (we... More
