It's charm is It's virtue. I love Magruder, we've made so many fond memories there. I will always choose it first. The staff is always so nice and accomodating. Hopefully it'll be much cleaner next time we go.
Very disappointed! I would rate service as "0" stars if it was an option. Advertised amenities on Wyndham and Tripadvisor are false. Recent stay (Nov 28-Dec 2) to visit Colonial Williamsburg. This is a "Trademark Collection by Wyndham" property. When I pulled into the parking lot, I immediately noticed the glaring emptiness - no cars, no people - unwelcoming, dark atmosphere. Lobby was deserted. The check-in was perfunctory. Virtually no guest amenities - restaurant closed, accessing the locked coffee shop required getting desk staff, only one microwave IN AN EMPTY ROOM OFF OF THE LOBBY, no morning guest food/beverage offerings. I was given a slip of paper with Wi-Fi info that also stated, "no housekeeping available". Beautiful property outside. Nice fireplace in the lobby that was off most of my stay. Unfriendly staff - no greeting when I checked in or when I passed through the lobby. This was a very poor example of a Wyndham property. Do not recommend. Would not stay again. I would like a refund.…
No room cleaning service so far after 4 days. Maid refused to make beds . We were promised room would be cleaned and not happened so promises are don't have any value or merit. Great location close to colonial Williamsburg.
The lobby gives you a very false impression of the rooms. Sheets were dirty, bathroom was terrible, shower head coming out of the wall, sink leaking onto carpet, toilet not level and wobbly. Walls are very thin, we could hear the people beside us. Stench of animals, not very well maintained or cleaned. We will never stay here again.
The location, lobby, and staff were fantastic. The room was extremely outdated. The beds were uncomfortable with thin blankets. The bathroom had water damage around the lights and one light didn’t even have a knob to turn it on. Would not recommend.
We chose this hotel because we were bringing our two small l dogs with us for the holidays. They were very pet friendly with a low pet fee ($25 nightly). The rooms were super old and without the AC on they smelled mildewy and old and my allergies flared up. I would recommend if you are looking for a good price but not if you are looking for great accommodations.
An absolutely beautiful hotel. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Good service. The magnificently adorned common area include historical artifacts and information about the area. Very clean, enjoyable and private indoor pool.
Room was subpar, unclean and needed many repairs. The property is being neglected. There was exterior mold. A light bulb was out in my room, the bathroom door was chipped, the inside of the compact fridge was rusted and it was too loud. The sheets were clean, but not fitted, so they pulled away during the night and exposed the mattress, which was unsanitary. Even my dog couldn’t sleep.
We had a very pleasant stay. Rooms were clean and staff were super friendly. The artifacts on display in the lobby is really neat to see and Williamsburg is a great place if your are a history buff like me. Internet was a bit slow but other than that, we had no complaints.
Overall, a very comfortable place. Lovely grounds and huge lobby, a great conference facility, bathrooms are small and dated. Beds were comfortable. Room temperature was easily contolled. Internet connection was pretty good. Very quiet
