My husband and I stayed for 1 night, and we both vowed to return with the children. The rooms are big an clean. The lobby is spacious and the food is good. The location is also good. Its not Downtown Williamsburg, but still close enough to be a 10-15 min drive to where ever you want to go in the Williamsburg area. Also, the free parking is a plus.
If the rating scale was higher my review would be so as well. From the outstanding service to the amenities, this hotel is one of the best. Although we didn’t stay there for its proximity to Busch Gardens, this hotel is just outside the entrance to the park.
Very good location. Especially if you are going to visit Busch Gardens. Accommodations were very good. Very clean place. Just remember there is a $10 a night parking fee. Was very pleased with our stay
Summary: Old, run-down, staff was less than helpful. At check in, the receptionist was not terribly helpful. We prepaid our room, but she didn't realize that and proceeded to put a $570 hold on my card, which I found out when my phone sent me a notification. Then when we got to our room, there was no heat. Then the toilet wouldn't stop running. The maintenance staff was helpful and quickly fixed the heat and toilet. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls in several locations. Tiles were falling off the shower and glued back up with caulk. No microwave in the room - but a tiny one was out by the ice machine on another floor. The ice machine didn't work. The alarm clock didn't work. The TV remote barely worked. The furniture was banged up and aged. The room was *generally* clean, but not really up to snuff. We called down to the front desk to see if there was another room. They were fairly dismissive and said no - everything was booked up. Doubtful since we didn't hear anyone else in our hallway the entire time we were there. Overall, unimpressed with this stay. I would not recommend this property if you're wanting a bit of a pampering or comfort. It is a tired property that needs some urgent attention. On our way out, I turned in the key to the desk. The woman at the desk asked about our stay, so I said "Actually, probably the worst Hilton property I've stayed at in a long time". She said "I'm sorry, thanks for coming." No interest in finding out why.…
Husband has one leg and we are elderly. Given a room so far from the elevator one could get lost. (150 yards) Plus there were three ramps requiring us to push our luggage up an incline! This is a ghetto Doubletree. The carpets all over this huge hotel are rank. The smell is rank. Everything is wornout and tattered and the staff are slack and unprofessional. I am here for a rewards program stay for an agreed price. So i check my emails after check in and dinner and they have emailed me a check in confirmation with double the price. The desk stated our card had not been charged and it had been done by the vacation crew, and I pointed out this confirmation had our check in time and they did not know that. She apologised and said I don't know where that came from. I thought Doubletree was a luxury experience. I feel as though I have been taken advantage of. This experience has finished me for Hilton.…
The commode was too low. Bathroom too small. Inadequate outlets in room. Pool too cool and no hot tub. When checking out person did not acknowledge us. Room clean and beds good. Building nice but rooms need renovation
This beautiful, spotless hotel has spacious rooms and an exceptionally friendly staff. Rooms are very well appointed with fridges, coffee makers and hair dryers. There is also a restaurant on site. You cannot beat the location, as it is right around the corner from Busch Gardens and across the street from numerous restaurants. We won't stay anywhere else when visiting Williamsburg.
Given stay at Double Tree…They are updating the hotel, painting the lobby 😊. Given a room with two double Queen beds. Ok but 6th floor had no microwaves on either end of floor & ice maker was broken. The dresser had separate side for fridge. Quite worn on inside. Nice outdoor and indoor pools. Front desk was gave us cookies when we asked. As we were given complimentary room, would have loved a room with balcony. Hotel seemed far from full. Staff very friendly!
One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in over 10yrs. The lobby is the best part but the rooms are 2 star at best. Nice staff but garbage establishment. They charge you for complimentary breakfast, $20 (eggs, bacon, potatoes) need I say more?
Location is good. Room was clean and orderly. Bed very comfortable. Did experience some noise from kids in room next door. Thankfully they quieted down at 10 pm. $10 parking fee is ridiculous. Check-in and check-out reception was cordial. Did I mention $10 parking fee for a huge parking lot?
