The staff was friendly, courteous, and immediately helpful. I enjoyed my 2 night stay at this motel located next door to the famous seafood restaurant, Captain George’s, where you get to eat from a fantastic buffet and all the crab legs you can eat. The hotel has a swimming pool and exercise room. You may want to bring your own pillows, however.

My wife and I decided to stay here, as it had everything we were looking for a Saturday night stay. We normally do a stay at the larger chain hotels in points. We knew what we were expecting, but our room was a bit nicer than the photos on the Choice website. Convenient to many restaurants on 2nd St. Also the Virginia Beer Co. is just a few blocks down. Nice to know, when staying at a motel, that whatever you forgot in the car, was just a few steps away. All in all, the room was warm and cozy, with hot showers before bed. A nice stay.

The rooms were nice. The kids and adults enjoyed the pool. It was quiet and close to everything. Great price. Worth the money. The employees were sweet and helpful. Continental breakfast was limited. Had a pancake house right next-door. The motel has coupons for 10% off at the restaurant.

We were looking for an affordable, clean room a walkable distance to Colonial Williamsburg & this motel provided that. It's a mom & pop style motel with a friendly check-in, well maintained grounds & a clean pool. The rooms are very dated & in need of an update but ours was clean. The bed linens & towels were also clean, but rather worn. Daily housekeeping is provided upon request & you can exchange your towels at the front desk. A continental breakfast of coffee, tea, cereal & oatmeal is provided, along with mini muffins & bananas and apples. Several reviews mentioned trouble with the AC, but we were able to adjust ours & the room was comfortably cool during our 3 day stay. There is a good restaurant across the street & a wonderful pancake house right next door. Given the fact that this motel is located a brief walk to the historic area, was clean, had a pool & was a very good rate we were satisfied with our stay. If you're a traveler looking for more amenities & a full breakfast you may wish to spend more and stay at a higher end property.

We requested an accessible room. We did not get one. We had to step up to get to the door and another step up to the room. The bed was terrible. Lumpy and way too soft. The toilet was as small as those in a preschool. I must say that every employee I cane into contact with was so nice and helpful.

From curb appeal alone this is a charming little place. It looks like it was built in the 60s, and the exteriors are at least fairly well maintained. Even the interiors were not awful, but they haven't received as much attention, and they need it. We're not talking huge things. In our room, for instance, the AC was not working well. It was 94 deg F when we arrived, and the AC was maintaining about 80 deg F, not really comfortable. It was a non-smoking room, but there was clearly cigarette smoke in the bed linens. On the one hand, there were tons of places charging $2-400 for the same time frame. On the other hand, I think that everything we paid for should have worked, and been as advertised.

So disappointed in the room this time. My friends and I ride our bikes from Richmond to Williamsburg every spring and fall. When we checked in today there were tiny dead bugs all over the bathroom floor, in the toilet and the bathtub was covered. We were told we would be moved to another room in 15 minutes, 45 minutes later it happened. In this room the heat won’t lower and the a/c won’t come on. I lay here in bed fanning myself because it’s still hot with it turned off. Miserable! Sad because we have always had a good experience here. Guess it time to find a new place to stay.

We booked it through the Choice Hotels website and stayed there from 12/26 to 12/28/2021. Overall, my family had a very bad experience visiting this hotel. The cleaning job was very sloppy; the only seemingly clean things were the bed sheets and the towels, which is the absolute bare minimum. The surfaces were covered in a layer of dust that looked like it has not been cleaned in several months and there was garbage under the chair cushion. There was a strange stain in the carpet and water spots in the ceiling tiles. The room smelled heavily of mildew and even after airing it out the smell still lingered. Additionally, the WiFi was very bad. My daughter had some homework to finish for school, but it was so weak that it either disconnected after only a couple of minutes or would not connect entirely. They said they had an Ethernet outlet near the bed but it was nowhere to be found. Who even carries Ethernet wires around with them nowadays anyway? Many reviews were talking all about their delicious continental breakfast but it was cancelled “due to Covid.” We’d been to several other hotels with the same stars and price all around Virginia within Christmas week and each and every one of them had breakfast available that was more than a packet of instant oatmeal or an apple. Finally, though the checkout time is 11:00, the housekeeper barged in without knocking at 9:00 am! I was still asleep. We absolutely do not recommend this place!

I recommend not to stay here. We arrived at 9 pm, checked in, and went to the room. The room and bathroom had not been cleaned properly. Went back to the front desk to get another room but none were available. Too late to go somewhere else, so I asked for extra towels and cleaned the bathroom myself. Didn't have a vacuum to clean the crumbs off the rug though. Canceled the next night in the morning and found a better hotel. Will not return here.

Very disappointing ! Arrived around 9 o’clock last night ,booked it through the choice hotels app..when I got inside ,the manager was very rude & charge me more and said there were extra taxes -that’s never happened before! Most of the rooms did not have any AC or heat function no fan or air moving at all! The staff said they only turn on the air when it’s super hot and turn on the heat when it is super cold. They blamed it on being an old building! Stuffy and musty inside -left my front door propped open for a couple hours -hard to sleep in there! 🥵
