The Cascades Motel is an old fashioned drive up to the door motel that is simply perfection! You can only find it by calling The Woodlands and asking about the Cascades. It is located between the Woodlands and the Visitor's Center. It is cherished because it is no frills and definitely dog friendly. Don't expect a luxurious bathroom, just the...

The Cascades Motel is the remaining section of what was originally "The Motor House" built in the late 1950's. It later was known as "The Williamsburg Woodlands". When the current Woodlands Hotel was built, the older section of the Williamsburg Woodlands was demolished. The Cascades Motel is the only remaining section that was saved from the wrecking ball. We had...

This little-known, dated facility is only available upon request. It was not featured on the Colonial Williamsburg site, but we heard about it by doing our research on line. We thought the location within CW was perfect for us. It was an enjoyable walk on a paved path into the center city area, or you could take the free shuttle....

The Cascades is behind the Woodlands and is what is left of the old Motor Lodge. It is not advertised or listed on line and only a few rooms are still rented. It may eventually be torn down but the location is near the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor's Center and our corner room looked out onto pine trees, and the family...

So glad to be able to visit CW again and stay at the Cascades. A retired school teacher friend of mine came with me this trip; and we enjoyed ourselves so much. We had one of the corner rooms -- loved the extra space!! -- and Evelyn was really impressed with the comfort of the room. We definitely enjoyed our...

Our family of four stayed at the Cascades in May with our dog. This was not our first stay there. We love the facility and are thankful it has been kept open this year. I understand there are only a few rooms open at the Cascades. Management had apparently intended to close this property, but some prior guests convinced them...

Secluded area, beautiful surroundings, pristine rooms and adorable colonial-themed furniture, friendly and wonderful staff and an amazing breakfast!! The walk to CW is a wonderful, huge bonus!

Just a quick note to say they are taking Cascades reservations. Not sure what has happened in tbe past few weeks, but I booked stays for July and December. If you've taken cats in the past, they aren't allowing them now, but dogs are ok.

We have stayed at the Cascades for many years, and as retirees, are being forced out of the Colonial Williamsburg experience with the closure of the Cascades. We always travel with our labradoodle, and love staying at this property, walking the trail to the historic area every day. Now that this is closing, there are no CW properties that will...

My husband and I have been coming to Colonial Williamsburg for over 20 years. We love staying at the Cascades, as it is reminiscent of days gone by. We are also able to bring our elderly cat, and that is very important for us, especially over Christmas holidays. However, our lovely little gem is closing after Christmas 2015. I have...
