We celebrated our 30th anniversary there although we had meant to go there many times, but never found the time. Beautiful place , rooms, fabulous food. We had a great time on our short stay. We even took a walk out to the garden where produce is grown and saw the sheep and talked to the person caring for the...

I normally rate where I have been by whether I would go back or not, and in the case definitely not. First, I am not wealthy, so if we are going to spend 500.00 on dinner it had better knock my socks off- which it did not. If fact, I found the portions to be way too small. The quality...

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Inn and found it to be outstanding. We stayed in the Julia Child room, which like the rest of the Inn is decorated over the top. If you like spare contemporary design, this is not your place! The bedroom and detached bath were both very large. My wife especially liked the...

My wife and went to the Inn after a trip to Washington, DC on the recommendation of friends and booked a table in the kitchen (at extra cost) for dinner. To make this short, the service was exceptional, the food was excellent and the inn was classic. We did the tasting menu and one course was scallops, which my wife...

I treated my husband to a weekend away to celebrate his 40th birthday. We stayed in suite 16, the Charlie Trotter. It was beautiful and very spacious with a gas fireplace in the sitting room. We had dinner reservations for both Friday and Saturday. Dinner on Friday was phenominal! We did the tasting menu with the suggested wine pairings. Each...

It is so nice when a place lives up to its reputation! The grounds are lovely, the town itself is charming, the room we stayed in was OFF THE CHARTS nice, and the food is to die for. This place has the only true 5 star restaurant in the vicinity of Washington DC, which is not just the food, but...

My husband surprised me for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Even though we had visited about 3 years ago it was like my first time. We were met at the door by a very happy/positive gentleman for valet parking and then we were handed a wonderful drink before being escorted to a parlor room in which we were served afternoon tea...

Devine in every way. I like to visit once a year just to celebrate life! The town of Washington Va is utterly charming and the Inn sits comfortably in the center of town, perfect for a stroll after the most enjoyable dinner you will ever experience. There is a reason Patrick and his restaurant have won every award and accolade....

Don’t ask me how, but they knew our name when we drove up. That set the tone for the weekend, and it stayed pretty much in place the whole time. This inn is a marvelously run and maintained destination, an ultra-luxury destination for a once in a lifetime splurge. We went, it was very expensive, and it was a wonderful...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the small town of Washington, Virginia, The Inn at Little Washington is the only Double Forbes Five Star, Double AAA Five Diamond property in the Washington metro area. The Inn's eighteen bedrooms and suites are sumptuous hideaways created by Joyce Evans, a London stage and set designer, for whom The Inn has become a life's work. Many of the furnishings were purchased in England, numbered and shipped to Virginia to be assembled on site like a giant jigsaw puzzle. The Inn offers a range of accommodations from well-appointed rooms to luxurious, two story suites many with balconies and garden views. The Inn's dining rooms are pure fantasy - a wondrous cocoon of luxury. Rose-colored, silk lampshades float above each table creating a private, romantic world below. Chef/Proprietor Patrick O'Connell's creations arrive as if served by invisible hands, course after course more dazzling than the last. From the award-winning 14,000 bottle wine cellar, which includes the finest offerings from Bordeaux, Burgundy, California and Virginia, the Sommelier plays matchmaker between you, your dinner and the wine. ... more   less
