You just know it's going to be special when you pull up outside the front door. And at every turn, it absolutely is. Beautiful rooms, fabric everywhere, wallpaper, coziness. Our room was the Jacques Pepin room and had a fireplace, heavy draperies and a little balcony. Homemade treats and drinks were waiting in the room when we checked in. Beautifully...

We spent a day and a night here and had dinner in the evening and it was a wonderful experience. The property itself has been painstakingly designed, with aesthetic appeal and comfort as well. The food was beyond description, really and one of the best meals I've every experienced. On the second floor foyer there is a photo gallery of friends and influences, among them Daniel...

We went to celebrate my birthday that ended in a zero. The inn made it special. Every course was so good. The chef makes the food look and taste so good. We have been here before, and look forward to our next dining experience at the inn. I just wish it were not so far from home.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Inn for one evening and we both wished it could have been one week. From the moment you arrive, you know that you are entering a magical place. Our suite was lovely and so comfortable. Enjoying afternoon tea was the perfect way to wind down from our car ride....

We arrived with friends for an overnight visit that included a much anticipated dinner. From the moment we arrived and we're greeted at check in with a special cocktail we knew we were in for a treat. Our rooms were visually delightful. Overlooked a courtyard with a koi pond and a fire pit. Charming Dinner was one wonderful course after...

My husband and I dined and stayed overnight at the Inn on 12/30/2016. I could go on and on about how wonderful our dinner was -- food was amazing, service was incredible (thanks Jimmy!). Our room was lovely and well-appointed however we did have an issue which may seem minor, but when you pay $900 a night for a room...

Dear Dara L, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at The Inn at Little Washington and sharing how the "food was amazing, service was incredible". We will pass on your kind words also to Jimmy. However we are deeply embarrassed that there was failure by our turn-down service to preform their duties to the...

We celebrated New Year's Eve at the Inn. The theme was Morocco. The staff was dressed accordingly which was a lot of fun. From the minute we walked in to the minute we left, it was simply magical. The service is warm, informed and not pretentious. The meal was a series of separate courses featuring pigeon, a very tasty Harira...

There may be a half dozen restaurants in the world as good ... but none better. Frankly, I have wondered how to review this spectacular restaurant and Inn. Speaking from the point of view of a couple who have dined all over the world, this place is, well, spectacular. No it's magical! The other phrase that comes to mind is...

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary there and truly everything was perfect from the accommodation to the dinner to the service, etc. We loved that all our special requests were met and also the little surprise gifts we found in the room! Thank you!

We celebrated my husband's birthday at The Inn at Little Washington. If you can, spend the night. You will not be disappointed. This is hospitality at its finest. Upon arrival, you are greeted and whisked off to enjoy the Inn. You are given a quick tour and a welcome drink (which was so yummy!). We went to high tea where...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the small town of Washington, Virginia, The Inn at Little Washington is the only Double Forbes Five Star, Double AAA Five Diamond property in the Washington metro area. The Inn's eighteen bedrooms and suites are sumptuous hideaways created by Joyce Evans, a London stage and set designer, for whom The Inn has become a life's work. Many of the furnishings were purchased in England, numbered and shipped to Virginia to be assembled on site like a giant jigsaw puzzle. The Inn offers a range of accommodations from well-appointed rooms to luxurious, two story suites many with balconies and garden views. The Inn's dining rooms are pure fantasy - a wondrous cocoon of luxury. Rose-colored, silk lampshades float above each table creating a private, romantic world below. Chef/Proprietor Patrick O'Connell's creations arrive as if served by invisible hands, course after course more dazzling than the last. From the award-winning 14,000 bottle wine cellar, which includes the finest offerings from Bordeaux, Burgundy, California and Virginia, the Sommelier plays matchmaker between you, your dinner and the wine. ... more   less
