This is a very basic motel, but with a delightful informality and relaxed environment in a tiny Mayberry overlooking great marshes & barrier islands. Family run & friendly staff. Free bikes to cruise around the small town, totally flat. Night sky was pollution free and gorgeous for watching stars. Good wifi. Forget Ocean City or Chincoteague, Wachapreague is our secret... Wonderful place to stay! My husband and I stayed here one night and had a great experience. On our way to OBX with a large group and everyone decided to spend one night in VA to cut the driving time. All our friends reserved rooms at the Quality inn. After reading reviews, I was glad they had no vacancy. This... More

Found this seaside motel quite by chance; most major hotels in the area were sold out. This little summer type place is in a little fishing type village. The motel rooms were dated back to the fifties; no phone, no hair dryer; but, did have a fridge & microwave! Noisy wall unit A/C, but was very welcomed. Probably one of... More

Thank you for staying with us, we appreciate your review. Sorry to hear your window unit was noisy, we are working on replacing the ones that give us trouble. We would have been happy to do that while you were here, to make your stay more comfortable. Although we do not have hair dryers and phones in the rooms we... More

Our kayak class stayed here for a long weekend. The hotel is conveniently located to Folly Creek for paddling out to Metompkin Inlet. The staff was absolutely friendly, always introduced themselves and were genuinely interested in how our stay was going. I'm always a bit nervous staying in privately owned hotels because you are never sure what it's going to... More

The rooms are clean and quiet. The location couldn't be better if you are looking for a romantic getaway to a small town or for a great fishing or birding location. The black skimmers at sunset are gorgeous. We loved the free bikes too!

We will stay longer next time. Room was clean and in good repair with quaint accessories. simple and comfortable and perfect for retreating. The office and reception staff is great and in line with the small town charm. The courtyard has seating and accessories that definitely make you want to sit outside or bring grilling stuff to eat outside. The... More

We were within steps of the island house. Views of the water from the front of our room. The room was very clean and had a small kitchenette which was very handy since we stayed for the weekend. It was extremely close to parks to take the dog for a walk and play tennis. The inn had plenty of activities... More

I left a review of the Inn a year or two ago and would like to say again that we love it. Cozy, clean comfy and rustic. The staff is terrific as are the inn keepers. Do check their website. A favorite with fishermen, birders and tourists alike, you get a comfy hotel room footsteps away (literally) from the Island... More

We rented apt #22 at the Wachapreague Inn for 4 nights when we travelled to the Eastern shore for the Eastern Shore Birding Festival. The apartment was roomy, and extremely clean. Their were two bedrooms with 2 comfortable double beds in each bedroom. Each bedroom also has its own bathroom and sliding glass door out onto the deck. The full... More

Taken over a couple of years ago the Inn is a refurbished motel that is very clean, friendly and close to many of the sites and restaurants on the Eastern shore. We had an efficiency room with a nice little kitchen which came in handy for cooking meals there. Room service is excellent as is the staff there. It's a... More
