We stayed for a couple of days and really enjoyed our time here. The location was excellent, just over a block from the beach. The rooms were clean and description had a lovely fesh lemon smell. The pool was nice and sparlekelling clean. The motel is old and a bit dated but reasonable and clean. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful
Beach Carousel rooms were clean, the pool was clean, the staff was pleasant and We felt safe. The location is a great distance from the beach and many restaurant and other attractions. The price for great for the value we received.
Its great location to the beach , not expensive , clean rooms . Friendly staff . Close to the board walk , places to eat , ice cream and shopping . Check out virginia beach coffee great coffee . Be careful if you park off location ( Down town ) they will tow your car .
This hotel has exactly what it advertises: clean comfortable rooms at a great location (3-5 minute walk to the beach). My family has stayed there at least five times, and each time I research other hotels and come back to this one. It is almost half the price of other comparable hotels around! It's not for you if you want a resort like experience, but if you want a nice room to come back to after a day at the beach, it's perfect.
I stayed here during Something in the Water fest in VA Beach. This is probably the most basic hotel I've ever stayed in, but I had no choice as all other hotels were either sold out or rates were exponentially high. Beach Carousel is in an amazing convenient location--two short blocks to the beach boardwalk, one street away from the strip of food, souvenir and beach hear stores, a few doors away from a huge beach supply store and a carnival (don't know if it's there year round) and close to gas station, convenience stores, etc. It was easy to get between the festival on the boardwalk and the convention center, he latter of which was about about a 15 minute walk. The rooms have white cinderblock type walls. The walls were still thin though so you could hear your neighbors. The room was average sized. There were small things I caught that could have better upkeep like loose outlet coverings and old hinges. The wood furniture (incl the bed) was not super old but it's not new either. It didn't all match but it was sturdy--reminds me of furniture bought at auctions when other hotels go out of business. I had a two full beds and they were actually big. The pillows were plastic and basically flat. I'm sure the comforter was made of that pseudo material/plastic as they were thin. Same with the sheets. The bathroom appeared to be updated. The towels, and handcloths were very cheap and rough. Shockingly, the place was very clean--even in the corners/crevices were attended to. I did not see any bugs at all. I would still suggest that you bring Lysol and some cleaning wipes to get things extra disinfected (I do with all places I lodge in) Amenities wise, there was a microfridge, tv, cable and wifi. I didn't watch any TV and I didn't try connecting to the WiFi so can't tell you about that. They also had a nice pool that looked clean but I don't think it was open yet. The room cleaning was done generally at the same time everyday, around 10:00am or so. The ladies bang on the door yelling "housekeeping" and if you're not quick to respond they will use their key to walk in. They are nice though and seem to care about wanting to do their jobs. The Motel is right by an airforce base so if you're there during the week, there are frequent, loud takeoffs that start around 9am. If you're a light sleeper you will get woken up. Not sure if it was just my room, but the cieling in the bedroom went from maybe 7ft then dropped down dramatically to maybe sub-6ft when you walk into the bathroom. Im 5'4" and was able to touch the bathroom ceiling without effort--so if you're really tall you may have a problem there. Would I stay here if I had more choice? NO. Would I if I didn't? IF I HAD TO. While my stay wasn't the best, it wasn't the worst--it got the job done. The owners seem nice enough as did the front door staff. They were happy to answer my questions about the area. If you're on a tight budget, with a group, or desperate and just want a clean place to lay your head while you spend most of your time outside, then this may work for you.…
