Room was ok, but hallway where our unit was located looked and felt like a dirty dungeon. Room floors also needed better cleaning as kitchen floor was sticky and dirty. Hopefully, new renovations and improvemets will help.

Excellent location in front of the ocean, the beach and the boardwalk. New sofa/bed and is very confortable to sleep. Well equipped kitchen. Friendly attendants. Well located condo to gift shops and restaurants.

Barclay Towers is an older residence. All units look directly to the beach. The walkway, bike path and beach are in front of the residence. Plenty of eye candy to keep you busy watching. They are 2 room suites, with full kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.; however, the units are a little odd as you enter the suite in the bedroom and then into the kitchen and living room. The unit was clean, and everything was serviceable. The staff was extremely friendly and johnny on the spot to fulfill any requests. They provide coffee for the unit. We were there during the off season, but I can imagine how busy the area is during peak times. There are plenty of attractions in the area and Norfolk is just a few miles away. At this time, there is a lot of renovation work, but it is supposed to be finished by April. They have an indoor pool that looked very inviting. For a base the Barclay Towers do quite nicely. …

We had our tire was flattened on day one of our trip. When working with police, they said that either: 1. Construction companies or 2. transients have been targeting visitors. Once our tire was repaired it was then marked by the criminal again. "WE WERE TARGETED". AND the hotel reeked of marijuana. This was a terrible experience. We were supposed to stay two weeks and were only there two nights.

Not sure if it was just the off season or what but I have been to many resorts in my time in many countries and this by far was not a good experience. The room was not in good shape. The electric door wiring was hanging down, the carpets were dirty, the bed was worn out and pillow case had a spot of blood on it. The bathroom shower had black mold and the toilet was loose. Railing on the 4 floor balcony was cracked loose from the cement. When we checked out 6 hours later no one seemed surprised or even asked why. Should have known when the daily rate to rent the room is $89 in VB that it was not going to be great.

Unit was nice but not well maintained. Many paint chips on doors and trim and had a broken lockset on the balcony door. Bathroom was very nice but rest of unit showed wear and needed updating. Carpet was vacuumed but need to be cleaned as it had many stains. Beds were comfortable and clean. Staff was not friendly and lacked customer interest.

I stay at this location as an “extra vacation”. It’s right on the boardwalk, adequate balcony, fantastic view. I enjoy watching the dolphins swimming south in the morning and returning north in the afternoon. The shipping channel turns in front of the building so you can watch large container ships and USN coming and going with the help of binoculars. There are several good restaurants within walking distance, however the kitchen is very adequate for fixing meals. Parking is across the street in a secure city garage. You can easily hear the waves from every unit.

Enjoyed our room, right on the Boardwalk, clean and comfortable, helpful staff but definitely an older property, hallway decor is outdated and carpet seemed a little musty. If you're looking for good value and location, this fits the bill.

This is our second time staying at Barclay Towers. The hotel is in a great location - at the end of the strip, away from all the loud music, right on the beach, with shops and restaurants close by. The rooms are very spacious and have all the amenities you would need. Great water access from the hotel, parking across the street, and ocean views from the balcony. The hotel does need some upgrading - could use a facelift, new bedding, new carpeting and better quality breakfast but overall has reasonable options for a family stay.

Second time staying here king suite oceanfront for the price of a room very clean and quiet Joy and Tammy at the front desk are great breakfast is good can’t wait to return within a 5 minute walk to 3 of the best restaurants on the boardwalk Chix Waterman’s and calypso also a 5 minute drive to Rudee inlet
