Location is excellent and room was clean and updated. Next to boardwalk in heart of neptune area. walking distance to many restaurants and acivities. Parking was onsite or in hotel owned parking garage across the street.

The location was great and the maintenance staff were great. Unfortunately, that was it and we had to become all too familiar with the staff. Stayed in room 506 and the A/C froze (we followed all instructions). The maintenance crew came in and took everything apart and chipped off all the ice. They made several comments about this same A/C in the same room giving previous guests issues. They informed me I had 2 hours to ensure the A/C was working again. Luckily it did. Unfortunately, the rest of the weekend we couldn't get the A/C to consistently stay below 76 degrees and kept having to get up in the middle of the night to "reset" it. Certainly shouldn't have paid over $300/night to be hot and without much sleep. Next time, I'll pay a little more and stay at one of the nicer hotels that surround this one.

Conveniently located on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk near many shops and restaurants. Great views from the ocean front balconies of the water and all the people on the boardwalk. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

Nothing fancy, but everything you need in an Oceanfront Hotel— all rooms face ocean with balcony; small indoor pool; WiFi worked fine; ate dinner on restaurant patio— food was good & staff very friendly. good choice for families on a budget.

We stayed at The Oceanfront Inn for a week in August, 2022. Room was oceanfront with a balcony, had two beds, I believe beds were full size, not queen, but were fine. Room was clean and bathroom was decent. This is an older hotel with an indoor pool, which was clean Staff at hotel were very friendly and efficient. There was a restaurant on site that served Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner but I did not eat there so cannot review it. Overall hotel was nice. The only complaint I had was with a busker/street entertainer that would show up around 530-6 pm in the evening on the boardwalk directly in front of hotel. He would start playing bongos and music and continuously played until at least 1130 pm , the one night he played music until 130 am. The music was very loud and you could hear it even if your balcony door was shut. In the evening I like to sit on the balcony and enjoy looking at the ocean and people watch, but could not enjoy it be cause of the very loud music. If this happened only 1 of the 5 nights I was there I would not have minded it, but it happened EVERY night I was there, and it got quite annoying. I called the front desk about this guy, but was told by staff that the boardwalk is public property and there was nothing the hotel could do about it, but I could call the police and make a complaint. Because of this man playing loud music every night, I do not know if I would stay at this hotel again. If he wasn't a concern, I probably would stay there.

We were looking for the Neptune Restaurant but it doesn't seem to exist in this hotel anymore. There was a restaurant with a bar, outdoor seating that had a super limited menu of just a couple sandwiches and over blackened vegetable dishes. The broccoli sprouts were so blackened and greasy they tasted like they had cigar ashes mixed in. We couldn't find this no name restaurant listed anywhere. It just said "Oceanfront" The hotel looked like it needed some renovating. Recommend eating elsewhere.

First off the good: The location is the best thing about this hotel. You are right on the beach, with a great balcony view of the ocean, beach, and 'boardwalk' - which is actually a sidewalk, not a wooden boardwalk. There are some places nearby to eat, get a drink, buy some items you may need, etc. Easy to find. The pool is great, indoor, but they open the windows and there are two skylights. Plenty of towels, a shower, and seating. Great if it rains at least you can go swimming. Coffee downstairs. All the staff was very friendly. The bad: the parking is awful. I was surprised it's an extra charge to park on hotel property. That's something I've found very unusual and did not find out until I checked in. Not a huge deal as far as price per day - but the real issue was you are given a parking pass to display in your car, however, if you leave the lot you lose your spot, AND may not have anywhere to park when you return! The lot is a nightmare with very limited space. There is a parking garage across the street but it isn't very convenient. There's a restaurant but the menu is very limited and overpriced. Do not sit outside to dine unless you want bugs in your drink. We barely made it before closing time for a snack and some bar food. They add 18% tip to your bill which takes away your option of tipping based on the service and quality. The ugly: this hotel needs an upgrade, as it's outdated. The elevators are dirty. The rooms are outdated and not exactly immaculately clean. there was still sand on the floor. Scuffs on the wall. Fridge barely worked and there was no microwave. The TV was small. No plugs or USB between the beds. The bathroom was small, the toilet was slow to flush, and the drop ceiling was damaged. No option to turn on light or noisey fan - it was all or nothing. No screen on sliding door to the balcony, so bugs got into the room when it was open. Overall the whole place could use a cleaning and remodel. Nothing special about the rooms, felt very budget level as you'd get at a cheap motel, but you're paying for the beach and location. It felt like a ripoff for the price. Take your family up to the Wildwood New Jersey area for a better value. Virginia Beach overall is a very overpriced tourist trap. I expected so much more for the price of Oceanfront Inn!

We usually stay at a different hotel not far from here on our annual VB family Vaca... we opted to try the Oceanfront Inn because there was a considerable difference in price between here and the other hotel, so we figured we'd save some cash and give it a shot. We arrived early, and unlike with the hotel we previously stayed at we were unable to get a parking pass to go ahead and park, go enjoy the beach, and then get actually checked into our room closer to 4pm. We've been coming to VB for the last 12 years and at the previous hotel, we've always arrived before noon, and been able to do this. We only have a 5 hour drive and figure since we are only staying 5 days, we want to make the most of our vacation. And we're always paying a pretty considerable amount to stay in any oceanfeont establishment. The girl at reception informed me that she couldn't give me a parking pass until 1pm, that I would have to go across the street in the pay to park lot and park for their charge of $10. This was actually the only thing I take issue with, with this hotel. I'm already paying you well over a thousand dollars for the week to stay with you. and I am unertain, because I was never told, but I have read that there is also a $7 a day parking charge. I should be allowed that parking pass when I arrive, so I can park my vehicle and go enjoy the beach until the 4pm check in time. The room was good... the bed was a bit hard for my husband's liking, but I didn't have an issue. The floors are not carpenter, but a lamented style, which is fine. I understand more places are going to this. I do think brooms or something should be put in rooms, especially since housekeeping no longer comes by daily.... it seems that no matter what you do, you can't keep the sand out of your room, and its icky when stuck to your feet. you don't want it in your bed. The staff that I met, was pleasant, the resturant is rely nice, we ate there one night. There is an indoor pool, which seems nice, but we didn't use it, we stayed on the beach. I do appreciate having to use your key card to get in the back entrance door. Thats nice for safety. So, regardless of the parking pass issue, more likely than not, we will return here next year.

We've been coming to this hotel every year for about 16 years. We have always been happy there. The beds are comfortable, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the view from every room is magnificent! There are several good restaurants that are in easy walking distance too. Highly recommend!

What a pity that in such a central location, there is little pleasure to be had from staying at this hotel. The receptionist was cold and unsmiling, with not a hint of welcome. The room had a decent bed, but with only a sheet and cover. There were two polyester blankets on a shelf and I had to unzip them and put both on the bed to get reasonably warm in the cold and windy May weather. The room heater/cooler is a metal box attached to the wall right next to one of the beds. Every time the thermostat turns it on or off the noise is enough to jolt you awake. I ended up wearing foam earplugs. There is no breakfast available in the hotel, and no microwaves in the rooms. Although arriving by car is pretty much the only option, parking is charged at $7 plus tax a night. After leaving here, I checked in at a hotel of similar standard and vintage at my next destination, Ocean City, and the contrast was striking: a super friendly receptionist, a full comforter on the bed, a restaurant with breakfast for purchase and free parking. There are dozens of other options along Virginia Beach: choose one of them instead of this place.
