We really liked the resort itself, Always clean, nice playgrounds, excellent mini golf. We stayed 3 times in 2020, because it's an Encore resort and it was free to us. Unfortunately, the place is ruined by local morons who come to their drinkin' cabins every weekend, and whose idea of "Class" is having the loudest stereo on their custom golf carts. They act as if they are entitled and resent the people actually camping diving, up and down every single street blaring music. The only respite from the constant is during the Sheriff's daily visit.
I do not have 200 characters worth of dialect to share. If I had known there was a test I would have studied rather than vacationed. Now my mellow is harshed by this assignment. This amount of thought and effort adds to my stress load and I really don't want to do that.
Written by my husband: We originally booked for Oysterfest in January. we normally do so because we like the supersites and they book fast. Our reservation was for Mulberry 7 this year. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and the attendant showed us to Walnut 13. I said this is not my site and the attendant said this is what the computer says. I offered to show him my email confirmation to no avail. The attendant said that all the sites on Mulberry were booked and no one was in the office locally or at corporate to help us, just after 9:30 pm. He said we would have to go to the office in person the next day. In the 10+ years that we have been coming to Bethpage, this had NEVER happened to us. We were not informed ahead of time that we were going to be moved. We had always avoided Walnut because the sites are short and very close to one another. When we went to the office the next morning, we were told we would have to speak to Lisa so we came back when she was there and she promptly offered to refund our money. We took her up on it as we had felt inconvenienced and was still mad that we had not been notified ahead of time. So, fast forward a couple of days..... Our stay at Bethpage turned out to be pretty darn great. We met new friends. We had a great time attending the events that you guys organized. We left feeling Bethpage is STILL our favorite campground/RV resort. I called Lisa on the Tuesday following Oysterfest weekend and shared this with her. I told her that I was reluctant to accept a refund having had such a great time after the initial snafu. Lisa said not to worry about it, just come back and see us. Well, my wife and I decided to take the refund plus a little and donate $500 to the Nicaragua Hurricane Eta relief fund to help those that were devastated by the category 4 storm. Just thought you'd like to know.…
Beth Paige is clean and has loads of things to do. The problem I had was that they did not give us the site number that we booked over 9 months ago. The site that we were put into was very muddy, the site that we booked was dry. There were other RV's in the site that we originally booked.
There for the last 7 Oyster Fest weekends. Brother and his wife decided to rent a spot. Their 1st time. They loved it. Always a great time at Bethpage. Patrons and staff are friendly, grounds are nicely landscaped and cafe has tasty fried clam strips. Loved the weekend entertainment, food trucks and craft vendors. Great way to make up for Oyster Fest cancellation. Looking forward to Urbanna Oyster Fest 2021 and whatever you have in store for us glampers at Bethpage!
