I have many other of the reviews and they are stretching the truth, I came here because it's the best area to be in walking distance to metro, it's very reasonable priced and the property is so large, it is so quiet you feel like the only one here. Andrew the manager is very accommodating and is a reasonable person that any problems you would have here he would fix immediately no matter how he had to get it down. There is also front desk Andrew who has the biggest heart and no matter how busy if you need something he doesn't wait for anyone else he will get it himself for you and bring it. This hotel is clean and nice size. There are so many places to walk to and it's in a very safe part of town. I would pick this hotel over any other in the area. Thanks Mr Daniel and Mr Andrew.
After reading the reviews here, I hesitated booking this property. Here is my experience. Please put in the context of a budget traveller. 1. Check in- was fast and efficient with the usual covid preparations such as a plastic shield between me and the staff; required mask and social distancing. Lobby was small and clean. The breakfast room closed. 2. Room- was a bit small. I have seen smaller. It was clean though. Bed- 2 twin, were comfortable with soft pillows. The AC had an electronic control, was relatively quiet and efficient. It cooled the room up rather fast. The bathroom was like that I saw at Red Roof Inn at Utica. The sink was outside the bath/toilet area, allowing someone to take a bath/use the potty and another to use the sink to wash up. I like this system better Potty worked well. No problem flushing. The bath had hot water that heated up fast. We never got a hot- cold- hot water experience. In the room was a hairdryer, flat iron and a board. I did not use these. There is a room safe that is not electronic. It uses an old style key. I was not given a key though but I though to tell the front desk not to charge me for it. There is a sign on the safe that they automatically charge a nominal amount for use of the safe. There is a combo microwave bolted to a decent sized small fridge. Both worked very well. The small freezer froze my water quite fast. I had fridges that barely could do that in budget hotels. A work table with a coffee maker, some cups, an ice bucket and an old but clean and comfy chair. Since there is no daily housekeeping, you have to go to the front desk to ask for coffee pod and condiment refills. A word here. There is not enough outlets at the work table. Nearby is a 2 outlet system. One is used by the microfridge combo. The second one- take your pick. Plug in the wall light? Or the coffee maker? Oh, I forgot what about your laptop.... The lamp by the AC/sofa chair also did not work. The on/off switch was broken and the lamp holder was out of place. But I did not need this lamp. It was bright enough with the other lamps. Here and there the wallpaper had small peeled sections but nothing dramatic. Internet speed was decent- I tested it twice- see my pictures. Upload/download from 4-7 mbps. I did an actual test and streamed youtube video with just an occasional buffering. Really not enough to lessen my viewing enjoyment. Note that I saw a note on the lobby during check in that there is NO daily Room service- due to covid reasons. Just be aware of this. 3. Parking- ample parking space. No problem parking at all. 4. Breakfast- is now grab and go. I guess this is the new norm nowadays for budget places. Really nothing to talk about. Just a muffin, a bottle of water and some napkins. At least it fills the tummy till you can go somewhere else. 5. There are vending machines found in the hallway between the buildings. Also found (but closed due to covid) the self service laundry. 6. The hotel is laid out in a quadrangle. Odd numbers face the outside, even numbered rooms face the quadrangle/courtyard. 7. Small pool that I doubt is enough if the hotel is full. As you guess it- closed due to covid. 8. Small gazebo at the quadrangle. Smoking area in front of the lobby. Everywhere else is non smoking. 9. Nearby- this is where this location shines. 5 minute walk from Spring Hill Metro. Could be a good base to explore the DC area. The area is generally a commercial district. High end car dealers (Bentley, Jaguar). 2 strip malls 5 minutes by car. Walmart supercenter 9 minutes by foot (wife walked this distance). Near Walmart, quite a few food places ( at the strip mall too). The hotel is off the busy Lee Highway. Overall a good value especially for a budget hotel especially as a base to explore DC.…
I needed three nights and stayed only one. This is an older property that is very very basic. Small cramped rooms. Old noisy air conditioner that did not work well. The shower was small and the water kept scalding then freezing over the course of the shower. I had to get out and back in a dozen times. That was the end for me.
5/7/20 Stayed here for one night due to my company booking my hotels. Upon arrival I can see I’m staying at a motel. As always I check for bed bugs before I unload any of my things. Coast is clear. My only issues is the smell of the room, and the fact that the mini fridge door was open upon entering. Just weirdness that didn’t make sense. The toilet would take forever to flush if it even would flush. They didn’t have all the channels most hotels have, so I of course didn’t watch any tv. Also, I overslept my alarm and literally 11 am on the dot, I get banging on the door from housekeeping. They don’t even wait for a response before barging in. Just rudeness. So therefore, my rating reflects their actions. I’m appreciative of the clean room and no bed bugs but y’all need to teach your employees some manners. I wouldn’t stay here again. …
We stayed because it was very close to where we were having some dental done. The hotel was priced fairly, meaning if you want 5 stars then this would not be it ( rent a 300 a night unit) The employees were nice, the parking is right there and is lighted. The hotel is right in Tysons Corner. Next time we are back down to see Dr Golpa - G4 we will stay here again.
