We book a block of rooms every April for our family/friends who travel to attend our theme birthday parties in Center Cross . 2022 was Roaring Twenties. 2023 will be Wild West. My hubby & I are very fond of this establishment, since this is where we used to stay when travelling from PA more than 11 years ago before we purchased our home here. Our guest are comfortable returning to this hotel year after year & especially enjoy the pool during the summer months. Rooms are clean & neat. Owners are professional & courteous & are a joy to work with. We just love this Motel.

Gave 4 stars for the value. We arrived driving through town. Very dismayed with the appearance of the Days Inn. We drove here.

The place was good for the $50.00. Quite, clean and near the river. I believe, the family lives behind it.s

We stayed in a non-smoking rooms which are the closest to the quiet area with a glimpse of the river. I'd return although it wasn't the newest; it was a good and clean value.

Great town to visit. Go ask the locals about the cliff area to the east and the eagles!!! Antiques are great and quiet nice town!!!!

Stayed here a couple of times when working in the area. Owners are very helpful. Terrific prices and central location. Rooms in the back of the hotel offer quiet and restful sleep. No traffic noise and overlook the river

We were in town to visit family. Older motel but very clean. They are in the process of renovating some rooms. Front desk staff were very welcoming and nice. Spacious room, very clean, and quiet. Close to restaurants, shopping, and the river.

When I pulled into the parking lot I became suspicious. When you see people leaning on the walls of the building drinking their 40's (oz of beer). Or when you check in the reservations is behind bullet proof glass. The most up settling was that the smell of the room nearly knocked me over. Had to go out a buy Frabreeze to kill the musty order of the room. If you turned off the AC the smell was back in no time. I must say the room was clean but dated.

The Southside Motel and Marina is a diamond in the rough. My room had a comfortable king size bed, nice size fridge, microwave and coffee pot. The room was clean and the staff went out of their way to make sure I always had clean towels, the room and was clean and that I had coffee supplies. The motel owners were the best. They allowed me to use the motel to have mail forwarded. I stayed for the entire month of April. If I'm ever in this part again, I would check for a room here first.

I stay here anytime I am working in the area. The owners are friendly, helpful, and operate a very clean, well maintained motel. If you need anything, they try to assist and make your stay as comfortable as possible. I use my computer to do work at night, and the added bonus is having a very fast WiFi connection, faster than most chain motels and hotels. I had stayed previously one night and was having trouble with my computer being configured to their WiFi. Neal took it upon himself to bring my computer to the office, determined it needed to be synced with their DNS number, and was fixed so that I could work that evening. I have never stayed anywhere, where the motel owner/manager went to that length to make my stay worthwhile. I highly recommend this motel and the owners to anyone who want a very clean room and affordable place to stay for the evening.

We stayed over the July 4th holiday weekend (2 nights) and had a good experience for the most part. We had one of the smallest rooms (2 doubles) with refrigerator and microwave. No in-room coffee maker but the owner had coffee ready in the small lobby at any time you requested...which we did at 6am. Apparently, the larger rooms do have coffee makers. The décor was "dated" but the room was clean. Our small room did not have a table and chairs so realIy the only place to sit was on a bed. I had a very big issue with only getting ONE key...which was truly a key...not an electronic swipe card. So if my friend went out before me and then I wanted to get back in, I was screwed. I had to wait for her to get back and let me in. The charge for a 2nd key was $5.00. So I didn't want to pay for it so that is my fault. This is not the Crowne Plaza so you are not going to see that type of clientele but everyone that I spoke with was very nice. It was quiet at night as most people are going fishing in the wee hours of the morning. The boat slips are adequate as long as you come in and out on high tide. We did not bring our boat in but did check out the slips. Would I stay here again for the price? Yes, I would. I would get one of the bigger rooms though. For what the Holiday Inn is charging to look out over the Walmart parking lot, I would stay here for less $$ and have a great view of the creek in the evening if I wanted to take a short stroll. There is one negative that is huge....the hotel was at full occupancy on July 5th (Saturday) and we smelled a very strong sewage odor from our bathroom. After contacting the owner he said to just keep the bathroom door closed and keep the fan on. That did work but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. I can tell you right now that it was because the motel had maximum occupancy and the septic system couldn't keep up. We were not the only ones to complain about the odor. This probably wouldn't happen on any other ordinary weekend or weekday but it is definitely worth mentioning. Overall, a decent enough place to stay if you aren't looking for anything fancy.

"Best to request a room at the rear of the property. Larger rooms and away from traffic noise. Also, great parking for anyone towing a boat. Rooms are a bit "dated" but everything was very clean. Don't expect fine bath towels and you need to ask for new towels each day if you need them. The owners are very accommodating. The pool is well maintained. I will come back again."
