I get old and rustic and quaint. I too am old and rustic and quaint, but even I have moved beyond the 1940s, which was the vintage of our old cabin, which had bugs, dog scratches on the doors, ripped furniture, and no shampoo in the bathroom. My daughter had to wash her hair with a paper-wrapped thin bar of... More

I stayed at Graves Mountain Inn Aug 19-22 in connection with an organized group event. Inside, it has the feel of a 1950's motel. That could be a good or a bad thing depending if you have nostalgia for the 50;s. A clear plus is the location, set on a hillside with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and valley.... Dear Larry, It is always unfortunate to hear one of our guest had a disappointing experience. I researched to see if you had made contact with our staff at any time during your stay and it was brought to my attention that you did not make us aware of your concerns while you were here. Had we known we certainly... More

The 4-H related group we are part of has held our picnic at one of the large shelters (they have two) for the past nine years. We just had # nine and since I have not seen others comment on this particular activity, I thought it might be worth mentioning. Our group has varied from the low 40's to over... More

3rd visit - peace and quiet and view. Nestled on a hill, great for hikers. Handicap accessible dinning area. Owners sits at table with you during meals. Large tasty meals with desserts. Breakfast eggs not my favorite, but other choices. Friendly workers. Not modern but all the basics. No cell service, some rooms have TV's - we played board games.... More

This is a tough one. Manage your expectations. The location is quite beautiful. The main lodge is well used, a tiny bit shoddy, dated, but in a nice way. Major complaint about lack of air conditioning in the dining areas. Food was American comfort food, not fancy, but good. Canned vegetables, fresh salads, local corn, excellent steak, served buffet style.... More

A truly enjoyable, very laid-back, family style meal. Make reservations in advance, or they may run out of food. Food was good, country style in family large portions. Not a bad deal at all. We had a great time, enjoy the rocking chairs on the front porch, and very much love the scenery to get there. Great people all around,... More

The food here was amazing, and the people couldn't be any nicer. The owner took me on a tour of his own house! The only reason for only four stars is that the rooms are a little dated. Our room had shag carpet. But overall I would definitely recommend Graves Mountain Lodge as a great family destination!

Took the wife to Graves for a Saturday night stay. She had never been there and I haven't been in years. This place is pretty much all inclusive with 3 meals thrown in on your nightly stay. It is not cheap by any means.Graves is located in Madison County and is pretty much off the beaten trail. No cell service... More

I, personally loved this dive in little lodge. They serve you 3 square meals a day and allow dogs. It's nothing fancy but it's perfect for spending a weekend in the mountains. The rooms and showers were clean and the food was delicious. We were in the old farm house, room 7 and enjoyed our stay. I recommend being downstairs... More

Stayed in one of the motel rooms. Nothing wrong with it, nothing special. We had absolutely no cell phone service BUT we did have wifi (generally) It went out at least 3 times in the 7 evenings we were there. The motel rooms are something akin to motel 6. No coffee makers. There is coffee down in the lobby of... More
