Tucked in the Shenandoah Valley community of Stuarts Draft, this RV park has it all. The lake, cottages, lodges, and great camping amenities. Great spot for families and friends, young and not so young. They just built a brand new swimming pool, too, right next to the well equipped playground and pavilion. The staff is awesome - friendly and helpful. They escort you to your spot and help you park your rig! Amazing, right? Oh, and the pizza and ice cream from the Beach House grill is 5 stars!
If you used to go to Shenandoah Acres, Sun Retreats has made some very big improvements!! We'll definitely be back, hoping to get a seasonal/permanent spot to be able to come more often and visit family in the area. Our grandkids loved it!!

The reasons I did not give an excellent rating are two things. The campground was built years ago and attempting to back a large rig (43 feet) into sites is challenging, not impossible, but challenging. The second reason is site R23 has such a slope on it I had to use two stacks of my 2x12 pads which are three boards secured together. Basically I had 9 inch thick pads for my rear supports just to level the trailer. Beyond that we had a great time. The campground is clean and neat. The staff is wonderful to deal with. They are extremely helpful. I have already reserved a weekend trip for next year. Just not site R23, LOL. Another positive is when you call the campground you actually get to speak with the staff at the campground, not some answering service like other campgrounds similar to Endless Caverns reservation process.

We just experienced our first “Country Pride Weekend” and hope that we can make this an annual tradition. What a fabulous time! Great activities all weekend with the highlight being the campground water gun game! We felt like kids again and we’re still laughing and smiling.

The campground is fabulous. We were in section G which was centrally located and spots were spacious. Bath houses are very clean. We went to the lake, pool and mini golf, all of which were great. Camp store has essentials and their cafe (and ice cream) were very good.

Customer service is top notch. Everyone was so hospitable and genuinely cared about making our stay perfect. We were greeted at the gate by a host who escorted us to our site which I always appreciate. I was SO impressed by the generosity of this resort in welcoming the local fire department and small businesses on site - it was fire department carnival time and the firemen brought their chicken dinners to the campground to sell. Good for Sun to open their resort to support a local nonprofit. I attended a paint workshop hosted by a small business and LOVED it and I purchased event shirts made by another small business which was vending on site. As a volunteer and a small business owner, I really appreciated seeing this resort open their site to support the local community. Impressive!!

Treat yourself to a beautiful part of the country that submerges you in small town rural America while taking in a terrific campground staffed with great people who truly care about making your stay the best.

This is a very large campground that is set up for seasonal folks, but has about 25% of the sites for travelers. We found it to be very clean, good facilities, paved pads for RV's and trailers, with many amenities to keep families with seasonal spots entertained. It is a bit of a drive to get to the Blue Ridge parkway or Shenandoah NP, but doable. We had a multi night stay here which gave us time to visit both plus the "Brew Ridge Parkway" - a winery/brewery/cidery road quite popular with those interested in local adult beverage "micro" proprietors.

We had a great time at Shenandoah Acres Family Campground. Stayed in 2 bedroom lodge condo and it was just the right size for 4 adults and 2 children. Walked right out to the lake. All staff members were friendly but the snack bar staff were absolutely terrific! Would definitely go back again.

I picked this campground for a couple reasons. Used to come here with family when I was a little girl and spent my honeymoon here 50 years ago. Also it was close to family that we were visiting. The campground was recently purchased by Sun Resorts and is undergoing improvements. Bathrooms have been renovated with new tile and fixtures and were convenient to our site. They were preparing to blacktop the roads while we were there and we had to deal with the dust and equipment noise while trying to visit. Water, electric and sewer hook up. We were in the short stay area and the site were adequate. There was a large permanent site area that we didn't go into. This will be a nice park to visit when they are finished with their updates.

Stayed here to see a friend and enjoy my husbands birthday. The RV campground was nice, clean and we had a terrific paved, pull thru site and it was very easily leveled. Weather was brisk and sunny. We really didn't use any of the amenities, but they looked very nice. Went to the millers Amish bakery in town and to the The Cheese shop in town Both worth a visit. Dog area is very little and hard to find trash for the doggy poo. They should put some doggy stations around the park. The pool was open and is heated, but too cool for me. Nice children's play area. all the people working were nice.I would stay here again. On our 2 week trip to see fall leaves this was the most expensive, but its nice!

This was our second time camping at "The Acres". Once again, we had a ball!! And that was in spite of some really awful weather (rain 2 out of 3 days). But even with less than desirable weather, all activities went on as planned: fireworks, DJ, Live band, 4th of July golfcart & bicycle parade. Everything was fun, safe and a great atmosphere for families. Thanks again

We were at this campground for two weeks and enjoyed our stay! The owners, Garland and Carolynn, were very nice and helpful. They bought the campground two years ago after it was closed for over 10 years. They are making great changes and are working on updating the facilities. It is a family oriented campground with lots of activities on the weekends. The campground was busy on the weekends and they kept to quiet hour starting at 10:00.vThere is a lake that is open during the summer with cabins. No wi-fi or laundry. Had a dump station and propane refill. We would stay here again. Check out our blog at roamingfreeinarv!

The staff here are very very friendly, they escort you to the site and help you back in, the owner makes it his business to visit each site and personally welcomes you. We camped at site R22 on the "Loop" this is where to go for for a nice quiet site. The site was very spacious with plenty of shade. I would recommend this Campground if your in the area.
