I wanted to see this old town in Virginia so stayed at this former hospital transformed into a hotel. It does not hide it's age and is full of antiques and decor of the era. The rooms are small but clean. The bed was comfortable and I am grateful for the very cold AC. It needed to be turned down... More

Despite the description stating that each room has a private balcony, the rooms do not have balconies at all. When I pointed this out to the front desk, the attendant said, "Yeah, that's misleading." I disagreed, telling her that it wasn't misleading, but an outright lie. She told me that the hotel has a couple rooms with balconies, but that... More

the young dark haired girl at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. Wallpaper in the rooms are water stained, but the rooms are clean. Dinner in the hotel was very good and the two dark haired servers were very good and friendly. The young blonde was obviously having a bad weekend because she was not friendly, or helpful.... More

Cute, historic Hotel in a cute, historic town. Lovely, cozy room. The restaurant downstairs is beautiful with excellent food at very reasonable prices. Excellent service. My room was quiet and my bed super cozy. My only complaints: bathroom very small and I did not see any ghosts! ;)

Took my wife to the Hotel Strasburg restaurant for dinner last night. The menu had a nice selection of dishes to choose from. The service was good, and food was great! The décor is amazing, very old school as we say now. The Hotel Strasburg was built in 1902 and was a hospital before becoming a hotel and restaurant. Worth... More

My friend and I stayed in Rm. 420 of the Taylor House during the recent civil war reenactment held in Middletown, VA. Upon entering the room we realized the TV didn't work. The front desk was called and the clerk came to play with it for a bit and couldn't get it to work either. She left with "I don't... More

We enjoyed our stay here with the exception that they do not have handicapped assessable rooms. There are no rooms on the first floor. So be warned of this fact otherwise the rooms were very nicely decorated with antique furniture. This hotel use to be a hospital and some of the hallway decor reflects that history. The food in the... More

My husband and I spent the night of Saturday, July 2, 2016 at this hotel. I had reserved a room through an online booking service, so I did not have a chance to ask questions about the room or specify any mobility issues. I was thrilled, though, to get a reservation in this old Victorian building! It really is special,... More

Yes this is a very interesting hotel with a history that other reviews will tell you about; this one is strictly concerned with the accommodations and level of comfort on a realistic basis. The staff at the desk is friendly and helpful. They know both the building's history and the town and will answer any questions. Rooms are oddly shaped... More

1902 hospital turned inn! Antiques and quaintness abound. Fine dining or pub on the premises. Pub food was home cooked - meat loaf on the menu. I had salad with gorgonzola cheese, apples and chicken - excellent. Breakfast was included in the room rate and consisted of fruit, toast, jam, bagels, coffee. Help yourself. Town is walk worthy - very... More
