This was our second visit. We decided to try the Ivy Cottage after enjoying our stay last year in the Pond View Cottage. Arrived in time to enjoy a lovely sunset from the front porch. We were sweltering in the Northern VA heat and the temperature was at least ten degrees cooler here. The cottage is perfect in every way.... More

I'm normally a beach girl, but I needed to get away from it all and this place was absolutely PERFECT! I stayed at the Pond View cabin and got way more than I expected. The cabin was astonishing; it had a full kitchen with everything you'll need to cook a great meal (plus a gas grill outside), jacuzzi bath tub,... More

My husband and I recently spent our honeymoon week in the beautiful, simply appointed and comfortable Ivy Cottage. It is such a private and relaxing place to be. We loved being able to sit on the porch in the evening to watch the sunset and, on one occasion, the light show of an afternoon Virginia thunderstorm. The location of the... More

This was our 4th visit to Alpine Hideaway and our 2nd staying in the Ivy cabin. While there I read through the guest book, reading about the stays other guests have had. So many were repeat guests just as we were. I think it says a lot about Melissa & Ray the owners and truly what a special place this... More

My husband and I were looking for a place to go for an extended weekend for New Year's Eve, sort of a mini-honeymoon since we recently got married (big honeymoon in a few months). I found this place on Trip Advisor and booked it. Wow. All my expectations were met and exceeded! Ray and Melissa, the owners, are very kind,... More

There's no way to list all of the things that were fabulous about our stay. But maybe the ones that will tell future the guests the most: great customer service / CLEANER than you ever knew possible / well-maintained everything / quiet peaceful location / HOT TUB under the STARS! / delicious food at the B&B (we did one night... My wife and I stayed at Pond View cabin for 2 days(wanted longer, but booked) and we didn't want to leave. The cabin is so cozy and has the feeling of being away from civilization, but you're still "close" to everything. The cabin has all the amenities you will need while on vacation it has a gas fireplace,WiFi, hot tub, and... More

We had a wonderful time, the cabin was very nice. The view from the front porch was picture perfect. The cows, and deer added to the view perfectly! Antique shopping, wonderful dinners, and horseback riding!! You can do as much or little as you want! Perfect getaway!

We reserved the Pond View cabin for two nights as a way to break up a long drive on I-81. So glad we did! The cabin is lovely and comfortable and we enjoyed seeing lots of wildlife around the pond. Well equipped kitchen and having a grill on the porch was perfect. It was so nice to just bring food... More
