I was there by myself and felt totally safe. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The grounds are well kept and I loved the 2 floor cabin I stayer at. Due to the time of year I was there the pool across from the cabin was obviously not open - but it looked really nice.

There were mixed reviews both on this site and on other sites regarding this resort. My family and I took a risk and it paid off. The cabins were large, quite nice and views of the lake were spectacular from a fantastic porch with rocking chairs, a picnic table and a nice grill that worked perfectly. The cabins needed a good cleaning is the only negative I can really complain about regarding this resort. I can understand why others might have complained about the RV park in the front of the resort that one must drive by on a daily basis, but it was not a ghetto and we saw it as camouflage for the real gem that awaited, which were the cabins in the back that were located on the lake. We expected rustic cabins and felt that this resort delivered much more than expected. We would go there again.

I went with my husband and kids, it is a beautiful place. We were able to fish in the lake, and do a campfire. The cabain is amazing, two levels. Enough space. We understand that probably for COVID they did not clean so well the bathrooms, but we had some cleaning supplies, and we clean them.

The Wilderness Presidential Resort is a very lovely stay if you get a working and functional unit on your visit. We unfortunately did not get a functional unit to start out our vacation. First when we entered the unit it was very hot. We went immediately to turn the air conditioner down only to find out that it was broken. There was also a sticky substance on the run in the common area of the unit. The common area walls and sofas had ants. The upstairs bedroom had a faint smell of smoke even thought the room is listed as non-smoking. When we sat on the bed we noticed the bed board was rocking. When we examined it closer, it was clear that the bed board had been torn from the wall it was attached to. When we called maintenance we were told that they had left for the day and wouldn't be able to fix the air conditioning until the next morning. We were told to open the windows. When we did open the windows we noticed the majority of them did not have screens on them. That was a security and safety hazard in our mind because we have food in the unit and it could attract unwanted guests. We called the security office again (these are the only staff working at night) and complained about the heat. We were told that we could switch units but would return to this unit in the morning. We didn't want to do that since we had a little one and would have to bring their bedding with us for one night. We asked about switching for the remainder of our trip and were initially that wasn't possible. They did offer and did bring us fans. When it was clear that the situation was getting worse, our little one could not sleep in the heat, we contacted them for a third time. This time we were allowed to switch units for the remainder of our trip. So at 9 PM we reloaded our vehicle. To add icing to the cake the front porch light didn't work so we reloaded our vehicle in the dark. Once we were in a functional unit the trip was nice though the beds could definitely use new mattresses. We also requested dish washer detergent which we were told would be right over and never received.
