What a beautiful old historical home! Somebody needs to buy this place to restore the "breakfast" part of the B & B. The owner was very communicative and sent the codes to get entry into the inn and our room. We stayed in the Conspiracy Room and the King bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. There were coffee, tea, water and snacks for us to enjoy. Our event was within walking distance of the inn and the area is safe. We'll definitely return on our next visit to Rocky Mount, VA.

If you're attending a show at the Harvester (they get some great acts as well as smaller up and coming artists), you can't beat staying at the Early Inn. Besides being basically across the street, the Inn feels so elegant. Rooms are spacious, clean, and very very comfortable. I can see how the Inn would be ideal for a wedding or celebration also.

Stayed at the Inn for a night while attending a concert at The Harvester. Both the Inn and The Harvester are unique facilities located in downtown Rocky Mount. One may find the driveway entrance a little tricky if accessing with a larger vehicle or pulling a trailer. The Inn has large rooms nicely furnished. There is no full time staff at the Inn, which we found to be fine. We did meet Bryan who was very cordial and informative advising us to contact him should we need anything but, everything was just fine.
It is just a short walk to The Harvester which makes this facility a great place to stay overnight when attending a performance at the music venue. Rocky Mount Burger Company was right across the street providing a great variety of eats and drinks.

Beautiful historic home. Wonderful accommodations. The location is within easy walking distance to the Harvester Center, where we enjoyed a concert. Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. If you are wanting to stay in Rocky Mount, Va., this is the place to stay! Very friendly host!

I have stayed at the Early Inn before multiple times and have had a consistently wonderful time at each visit.
This year was a little disappointing, as we came on Christmas weekend with increased prices for the nights of 24 and 25 December and a "hot breakfast" is advertised on the weekends. However, there was a note left at check in saying there would be no breakfast served on Christmas Eve or Christmas, despite the upcharge for those two days.
Despite a full house on a holiday weekend, there wasn't a manager on the premises. The thermostat went haywire in my sister in law's room and took 2 days to resolve because a non working contact number was provided for texting with any issues. We were offered a discount by the establishment, but never received one, and my sister in law ran out of soap. We paid a good amount to stay as a family but overall felt that the service was lacking this time.
While our room was overall roomy and comfortable, it was a bit musty smelling and the toilet paper was thrown into a woven basket in the bathroom, as there was no dispenser mounted to the wall. The extra linens from wedding events were awkwardly stored in our room's front closet, and the continental breakfast was 2 day old danishes. When we asked for a travel coffee cup the first day to take our coffee, we got a blank stare and were offered coffee to go on the next visit, and still no cups.
It lacked the homey welcoming feel this round, so not sure what happened at the Early Inn.

I stayed at the Early Inn because of its proximity to the Harvester performance center. It was a great accommodation, not solely because of location. It was a comfortable suite and I enjoyed its historical significance. However, management needs to address a few housekeeping issues with the Magnolia Suite. The smoke detector in the room had been removed. I did not check if there was a working detector in the hallway outside the suite. Also, there was no window covering whatsoever over the window above the soaking tub. If guests are staying here and walking to the Harvester at night to attend a show (as I was), some additional lighting outside would be helpful. On a minor note, some lids for the hot coffee or tea which was provided, would be great so we don't spill it on our way to our room. I was greeted by Bryan when I checked in and he offered some suggestions for dining in the area. I highly recommend staying here whether or not you're going to see a show. Rocky Mount, VA seems to be a wonderful small town.

Apparently the place is up for sale. May have been wonderful before but it felt creepy and deserted when we arrived - and they were so tardy in sending the check-in codes that we were unable to check in - and unable to reach anyone by phone - and there's nobody present at the site. We were forced to bail and find other accommodation. AND neither the innkeepers or Travelocity has responded to our demand for a refund. Lessons learned : DO NOT STAY HERE GO ELSEWHERE

We stayed and went to the Harvester for a concert. It was nice because it was within walking distance. Very clean, door key pad was a little tricky at times to unopen. No breakfast was provided at this bed and breakfast. They had soda and juice in the refrigerator downstairs. The confirmation email stated the Rocky Mount Burger Company (which is across the street) sells breakfast. Overall, it was a nice stay!

We enjoyed a brief stay over. We were quite lucky to be able to reserve last minute the Spacious pet friendly Cottage adjacent to the Inn. Lovely property. A nice sitting area as you enter had a sofa & chairs. The King bedroom was large & had a generous hall closet as well as an en-suite Bath Room with a Shower. We slept very well. A Mirrored ladies dressing table in bedroom was a nice touch & most appreciated. Shower amenities provided & reading material available.
They provide a delicious breakfast at 8:30 am. No other meal or bar service offered currently. They also do events & catering. Do take your time to view the art & enjoy the history of the home. Other than replacing the batteries in the electric candles & tidying up a bit of a mess left outside back porch by previous visitors all was in good order.

Beautiful inn. Spacious rooms and friendly service. Key pad so no need to keep up with a keycard. Highly recommend. We were in town for concert at Harvester Performance Center and this location is just across the street. Several local places to eat.

Also stayed here by myself (no other guests or staff) and nothing. Although there was a history pamphlet in my room that said an owner died in the room in 1909 of typhoid.
There are more places to choose from in the Rocky Mount area.
