My wife and I stayed at the Black Lantern for our 25th Wedding anniversary and I honestly don't know what could be done to make us enjoy our stay any more. The attention of every detail from the remodeling of the 100 year old home, to the decor, to the ambiance, to the food, was amazing. Ron is a great... More

I was a little turned around in Roanoke. I called Ron and he met me in the parking lot, carried my bag, and checked me in. I quickly had to scurry off to a party with friends. The room was lovely. The bed was so comfortable. Quiet. High quality sheets. Tiled shower. Pretty. Tasteful. The best thing about this place,... More

Black Lantern Inn is a truly quality B&B. The historic house has been lovingly and expertly remodeled completely to the highest standard by the owner, a contractor/remodeler of 40 years. The finishings and furnishings are beautiful - plush and indulging - it is like staying in the Pottery Barn catalog. There is a second floor kitchen with a stocked fridge... More

The Black Lantern was exceptionally comfortable--the owners have spared nothing in the renovation. Despite the closeness to a road it was the best sleep of our nearly three week road trip. Ron was on his own the night we stayed, but he was a gracious host and cooked us a great breakfast.

We absolutely loved our stay here over three summer days in Roanoke. We're experienced B&B guests, and the pristine comfort of Black Lantern truly stands out. With three perfectly presented guest suites, Ron can provide the kind of personal attention that is rare even in the world of B&B stays. The Skyline room isn't just a room, but a miniature... More

Fabulous B&B...excellent service, food, accommodations. Ron is truly a wonderful, caring host. His craftsmanship displayed in the resurrection of this is old home is incredible. The location proved to be convenient to both downtown and the surrounding region.

We were passing through Roanoke and stayed at the Black Lantern Inn. It was really nice. Ron, who does everything, made us feel at home. Ron did a tremendous job renovating the inn and turning it into a beautiful home. Our room was the Cozy Quarters on the second floor. It was a nice room with a private bath, and... More

We enjoyed a wonderful stay, it was like being at home. Ron has made staying with them a great and relaxing experience. Will go back again when in that area. The house was elegantly restored and every comfort for guests was there. Ron is also an excellent cook as well as host.

We stayed here with our friends, and had a wonderful experience. Ron, our host, is a great guy, really nice, and gave helpful suggestions for restaurants and what to see over the weekend. He also makes delicious hearty breakfasts of omelets, sausage and fruit and yogurt. The place is immaculate, with beautifully decorated rooms, and its amazing to see his... More

We stayed at Black Lantern the last weekend in May. A quick anniversary trip and night away from the kids. Although we were only there one night, we got just what we were looking for - a little relaxation, good food and a glimpse of a cool town we had never visited before. Our room on the 3rd floor was...
