The Black Lantern Inn was a beautiful, well organized, clean and homey B&B with generous and cheerful hosts, Chris and Jayne. Their hospitality is above and beyond. The outstanding breakfasts in the morning leave you feeling satiated and ready to explore Roanoke. The Black Lantern would be ideal for ANY trip to Roanoke - couples weekend, business, overnight respit, etc. I can't recommend this property and their hosts enough!
I've gotten spoiled by Chris and Jane and I'm starting to feel it's a home away from home at this point. I'll continue to stay there when I'm traveling through. Why not, when you get the royal treatment!!
We stopped in Roanoke on our way to Asheville, NC. The Black Lantern was easy access to I81, and a nice walk to Roanoke’s Market Square for dinner. Our hosts were welcoming and provided a delicious breakfast. Our room was very attractive and comfortable-we especially liked the bamboo sheets. A kitchenette was stocked with snacks and beverages and the porch and patio provided beautiful places to hang out. This spot gets our highest recommendation!
Excellent hosts who could not be more helpful. The room and facilities were both excellent; very comfortable and easy to to settle into. The Breakfast was out of this world and served on an open air deck on the second floor. After breakfast we talked forever with our hosts as we put the world to right!! As you promised Nashville was very cool and really enjoyed ourselves touring the bars. All the best Joan and John from Wales.
We stayed at The Black Lantern while on a trip with my mom and father-in-law. The accomodations were spotless and very comfortable. We all rested well on the very nice mattresses. Breakfast the next morning was served on the covered deck. I loved the fresh pears and maple yogurt. Chris and Jayne were very friendly and it was so kind of them to allow us to bring Pip our Havanese!
