I stopped by the Black Lantern Inn Bed & Breakfast last week for a tour. The holidays are getting busy and we may possibly have overflow visitors at our home, so was looking for alternative places for family members to stay. Conveniently located close to my South Roanoke neighborhood, the Black Lantern Inn is certainly impressive. The facilities are very clean, beautifully decorated, and although I did not taste the food, Claire, the innkeeper gave me a lineup of what guests could expect, and she certainly seems to have the inn's fare under control. The staff members are also very knowledgable about the area. The bedrooms are spacious and one even has it's own patio...with a view, I might add, of Roanoke's finest landmark, the Mill Mountain Star atop Mill Mountain. The

My business partners and I got held over in the Roanoke area. We were not sure where to stay . When someone suggested a quaint little bed and breakfast. We called and they where extremely accomodating. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They offered us food for dinner and breakfast (they had plenty of it) . The staff was very kind and helpful. I felt very at home. I would take my family there.

My husband and I stayed at the Black Lantern Inn for an extended weekend before a business trip to Roanoke. This Inn is not to be missed as they did not disappoint!! Once we heard one of the Owners was from Chicago, we looked no further. The Innkeepers are very accommodating to guests and very friendly. I would consider the Black Lantern to be compared to an Upscale Hotel with all the comforts of a B&B and being like home. Staying here was like having your own private chefs :) My husband is a very picky eater with certain foods and the Innkeepers were absolutely accomodating and went above and beyond to making every effort of preparing a delicious breakfast. Again they did not disappoint. And the Cookies were SPECTACULAR!!! We ate every one of them. We stayed in the

I specifically chose Black Lantern Inn because it advertised excellent service, privacy, serenity and a good location. I quickly found, however, that the website doesn't do justice to the actual experience. Our expectations were continually exceeded on a daily basis. The Tiger Eye room happens to be my favorite. The breakfast is good and there is plenty of food. The service...what can I say? The staff is very attentive and genuine...many came to be friends by the time of my departure. The entire staff treated me as if I was family. I can't say enough about my experience. I was sad the day I had to leave but I am already planning my next trip. If you want top-notch food, service, accomodations and friendly staff and guests, then book your stay now. I try to stay here at
