While driving 2,200 miles from Flagstaff to DC, the male half of IllyCoffeeDrinkers and one of our kids pulled off I-40 and spent a December Tuesday night here. On the positive side we found this hotel to have a friendly and helpful staff, a very spacious and impressive fitness center, and nice looking indoor and outdoor pools. Our double queen room was very large, nicely decorated and very clean with comfortable beds and pillow, high quality towels, a large desk, a coffee maker, a refrigerator, a blow drier and a large closet (photos attached). The room’s heater fan was a bit loud and the room could be upgraded by adding more outlets near the beds, a comfortable sitting chair with a back instead of a stool, and a television that can be easily seen from both beds. The biggest downside of this hotel is the very disappointing breakfast. The setting was unpleasant with limited lighting and the selection of foods, both hot and cold, was far fewer than what many of their competitors regularly offer. For example, their main choices for hot food were only scrambled eggs and biscuits. The management of this hotel regularly monitors their reviews, so we hope they take this review and similar reviews to heart and up their breakfast game. Overall, the room and setting were very nice, the breakfast seems to be their Achilles heel. Our bottom line, for the price we would not stay here again until they improve their breakfast. The staff at this hotel was absolutely amazing to work with while trying to plan a trip for a high school volleyball team. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling by themselves, with family or with a large group. They were extremely accommodating. The rooms were beautiful and clean. I could not be more pleased with this hotel.
This hotel is mind blowing because it has many facilities like in room bar, very nice staff and very cooperative with customers.I love to visit there.very nice hotel for holiday in raonake so you should visit there.
Found this hotel last minute. Great location - close to lots of restaurants, shopping and airport. Clean rooms and bathroom was free of mold :) what a nice feeling. Great value - would definitely go back.
We got what we thought was a great deal here, but quickly found out why it was so cheap. It has a 3.5 star rating on Hotwire due to the fact that when it was first built I'm sure it was very nice. But I don't think anything has been updated since the mid 90's (that includes the parking lot, carpets, and decor.) There is a spacious restaurant that is only open for the "complimentary continental breakfast" which included waffles and... nothing else. Not even fresh fruit or toast. The hallways smelled horrible - a mixture of cigarettes and dog. The sheets were a very low thread count and itchy, and the bed was an extremely hard spring mattress. Despite the Do Not Disturb sign we left on the door all day, someone came in and "straightened up." Lastly we noticed the pool had a layer of scum on it from poorly balanced chemicals. Do not fall for the high rating and cheap price. Not a good stay.…
We stayed for 2 nights. The location was fine and there was plenty of parking. The room seemed clean but the air conditioner was very noisy. I did not have any breakfast. The gym looked nice but the pool is unusable...even my 9-year-old was unable to tolerate the icy water. He was so upset that he couldn't swim. Staff was very friendly and available. For the price, this is a decent stay.
I could go a lot of ways with this review. I am giving it three stars. It could go either way with some fixes/changes or not taking care of things. We were attending something at Va Tech and were bringing our dog. This place was reasonably priced, accepted dogs, didn't charge a lot for the dog and wasn't that far away. It was a bye weekend in October, so about 40 minute drive. We arrived about 10pm Friday night. Its location is interesting but it is close to the airport as most conference centers are. Just be prepared for an interesting exit to get on the main road, two lights. From the outside in the evening the front is nice. When I walked into the vestibule, I thought I had walked into a furnace. Then in the lobby it was overly warm also. They had a couple people checking guests in, no real line. The person that helped us was nice but really had to listen to understand her. Being we had a dog, they gave us a room on the first floor. Have not had to do that before but no big deal. We eventually found our room. The person at the desk told us but remember that hard to understand part. We should have asked again. The room was a typical two bed room. The bathroom was interestingly small. The main room had more than enough space that the bathrooms could have been bigger. To close the door of the bathroom, I had to stand between the counter and the toilet. This was about a 6inch space. When you open the door it is about an inch from hitting the toilet. The toilet paper roll was on the counter because the holder did not have the bar to hold it. In the shower, the head was not tight enough so it was spraying water over the shower curtain onto the toilet. I fixed it so that it doesn't do it any more. The sink in the bathroom was all the way to the left because it had to be something you could stand in front of it or you'd be standing in the toilet. The mirror cam to the middle of the sink. The ceiling had a bug that someone had killed stuck to the ceiling. The beds were decent for a hotel, slept fine. We had the A/C down to 60 degrees but don't think it was working correctly because it never felt less than 70 degrees. The tv worked well and had good reception. The placement was not good. When you laid in the bed it was difficult to see because it was too low. The room did have a small fridge and coffee maker. I thought I was in a dorm room because the coffee pot was on the top of the fridge and fridge was on the floor. Probably should have a cabinet for it. My point is that the room could be very nice, just need to get into the details. This is a management thing, hold your team to a higher level. We had a door to go outside next to our room in the hallway. The door was propped open the first night, not much for security. The second night I went out the same door to take our dog to the dog area right outside and the door closed, great. When I went to go back in, I used my room key to unlock it and nothing. Guess that's why it was propped open. We parked in the back parking lot close to our room. This parking lot was about 10 years over due for new asphalt. Again, this is why I could go either direction with this review. If management walked the property daily, these things would be noticed. They would all get addressed at once but start where you can. This could be very nice hotel. …
From the outside, it has a lot of potential. However, once we got in the room we found no hotel information, no wifi info, and no microwave. There was only one person working the front desk when we checked in at 7. We had to ask the bellman where the nearest restaurants were. The continental breakfast was barely adequate. There was no fresh fruit, the coffee was weak, the only eggs were pre-boiled, and there was no bacon or sausage. Too carb heavy! On the plus side, this hotel has one of the nicer fitness rooms and indoor pool areas I've seen. There just doesn't seem to be anyone working here.
It was nice the kids enjoyed it but the pool was cold and hot tube wasn’t working , but other than that the staff was friendly and very clean.I think they should have the restaurant open later than 9 o clock pm
We had reservations for one night. We checked in Saturday afternoon and, upon entering our room, we immediately noticed it was not ready. Specifically, the bed had not been made. I called the front desk (the person was very apologetic) and was offered another room; the key was delivered in less than 10 minutes. The new room was fine but it was later that night when we noticed there were no wash cloths. I called the hotel operator (housekeeping did not answer) and was told that wash cloths were at the front desk. She said she was the only one available and could not leave the front desk to deliver the wash cloths until other staff arrived. So I asked if I must come to the front desk If I wanted the wash cloths right away, and was told yes. So, I went to retrieve the wash cloths. Also, we noticed the carpet throughout the hotel, is buckling and could pose a danger.…
