If you're looking for a modern up to date place to stay this is not your place. It is in good shape considering it was built in 1902. The food was excellent. The brunch is a must with everything from eggs benedict to fruit to crab legs. I'm giving it 3 stars for the great food and service. It's minus...

Traveling home to Detroit from Myrtle Beach we wanted to stay in the mountains for a few days and booked while on the road this wonderful paradise without even knowing it's movie history. Upon arrival as we reached the peak of the road I recall the opening scenes of Dirty Dancing & was thrilled at every experience afterward. We stayed...

This lodge is very relaxing and brings you to some of the most breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge mountains. It is a great place to unwind and disconnect from the rest of the world. The cabins could use some TLC but are very charming. I hope when my son graduates from VA Tech in 2019 the lake is back....

the main reason we chose to stay at mountain lake lodge is that I am a massive fan of Dirty Dancing and wanted to see for myself the locations of some of the scenes. I was not dissapointed. On arrival we checked into our room which was basic but that was what we expected we were only there 1 night...

I have stayed at Mountain Lake Lodge many times over the years and I've not had quite the experience like I did this time. First of all, I booked my room a month ago by calling the lodge directly, and requested a top floor, southern facing (facing the mountain, not the lake), quiet room. I was told this request was...

Sunflower 35, Thank you for your detailed feedback. My apologies for the frustrating situations during your stay. Thank you for letting us know about the lack of a hairdryer in your room. I agree this was unacceptable. This has been addressed since your departure. I appreciate your candor and am following up personally with the several issues you mentioned in...

I’ve now been to Mountain Lake Lodge twice for a family reunion. August each year. Beautiful area, even without the lake that used to offer so many activities. The Lodge has tried to overcome that near death shortcoming by adding other activities like the Treetop Adventures. The hiking is great. Overall the hotel fit my family’s needs with entertainment and...

Hello, h w, from Richmond! Thank you for your feedback. You are correct that Mountain Lake Lodge was close to death in late 2012. We are seriously, fervently trying to preserve Mountain Lodge for another 100 years of enjoyment. In early 2013, the main lodge and several cottages were refreshed. We have added more outdoor activities, Treetops Adventures Base Camp...

We had stayed here before and were excited to be here for a birthday bash for one of our friends. We decided to stay in one of the Blueberry Ridge Cottages as a treat. The Cottages are really nice but pricey for what they are. First, if you are going to stay here, recognize it's a bit of a trek...

It's sad the lake has receded, eliminating a lot of water sport activities, they've done a great job reinventing themselves as a nice outdoor adventure get away fro families. We stayed in one of the cottages, which was quaint but private and very close to activities. The staff is super friendly and the resort offers many activities to keep the...

We stayed in one of the blueberry ridge cottages which was quite lovely and spacious. Our 1st night was noisy with multiple neighboring cottages partying until past 2:00 am. When I called the front desk, someone came out within minutes. The other 2 nights were blissfully quiet. The kids had a super pass and enjoyed the obstacle course, bubble ball...

Here for a conference and not much to do in our down-time. Probably a good spot for families wanting to get away from the city. Tis very pretty and VERY quiet. No TV in rooms which I quite liked. Very far from anything so you have to eat at the restaurant which is average but no horrible.

KatFive, Thank you for your feedback. It was wonderful having your group here for the week long conference. After reading your comments, we should have scheduled some of our Treetop Adventure Base Camp activities for your group at night. If your group was interested we would have been more than happy to coordinate some of our daily activites for your...
