I absolutely love Mountain Lake Lodge. It is nestled in the mountains and is the perfect place to "unplug." Lyndsi helped coordinate our wedding and she was great. Our wedding was supposed to be on top of the mountain, when the weather turned out poor, Lyndsi really made the change in location possible. We had our ceremony on the veranda...

I attended a meeting and stayed here for 3 nights. I stayed in the main lodge. Granted, it is an old place, but it has not been kept up. No elevator that I could find, and a good walk uphill from the parking lot. The heat had 2 settings, off and blazing. No TVs in the room, only in the...

Fourester, Thank you for your candid feedback. You are correct that Mountain Lake Lodge will never be the Greenbrier or the Homestead. We are a rustic, historic lodge on 2600 acres of hiking, biking, birding, and outdoor adventure. Most folks visit us to "unplug" and enjoy all of the natural beauty of this SW Virginia treasure. If you are to...

Mountain Lake is well past its prime, maybe to the point of death. My organization chose this place to hold a meeting. The meeting facility was fine. We were well attended. However, everything else was poor. The rooms have no a/c, tv, microwave, or fridge. Housekeeping is a joke. Beds were left unmade, no towels, trash left from the previous...

This is an older Inn in the mountains. If you are looking for a 5 star modern place this is not for you, if you are like us and want location (beautiful mountains) clean and rustic this is the place for you. We had a wonderful weekend at their Octoberfest this past weekend. Our room was in a log cabin...

The Lodge is tucked nicely away and is a great getaway for couples (there were families as well...) You would think that the place might be pretentious and need something like little more formal attire than just casual, but it certainly wasn't. As many are aware, a fair amount of Dirty Dancing was filmed there, and made for a nice...

Interesting place to visit. Our room was a bit dated and shower/tub was an old jacuzzi tub with jets. The movie Dirty Dancing was filmed here. They have a fun nostalgia map showing the movie sets. A lobby coffee bar in the morning would be an awesome addition for guests. There is a coffee maker in the room.

We were staying nearby and decided to try the Sunday Brunch. What a great experience. We had never visited this site before but i had gone to school nearby and knew it was featured in the movie, "Dirty Dancing". When we arrived it was overcast and drizzle but the clouds soon clearly to a beautiful clear autumn day. The brunch...

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at the MLL. We enjoyed learning the history of the building and exploring the many walking trails on the property. Our room in the lodge was rustic, but clean and comfortable. All the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. After spending our days exploring the area, we spent our evenings in...

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Mountain Lake Lodge for our 29th anniversary. For those of you who don't know, this is the place where a lot of the scenes from Dirty Dancing were filmed. Being that this is my favorite movie, I was in Heaven! The location was perfect, the foliage was beautiful and the...

We booked a room 6+ months in advance especially to attend the Virginia Tech game and the Blacksburg area. We requested a cabin. The Cabin itself was connected to another cabin room and the visitors in that room were very loud, partying loudly with music, cursing and seemed to be drinking a lot. (you could hear beer or alcohol bottles...

LiaO268, Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at The Lodge. I agree with your comments about the terrible weather - It has been very challenging for the past two weeks! I am disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your experience while at Mountain Lake. We have over 26 different room/cabin types on property. It is...
