My take on the hotel is that you either like this type of place/hotel experience or you don't. I enjoyed being in this lovely setting, having no tv, and seeing the Dirty Dancing sites. I also loved it at night, hearing the older movies being shown outside from my bedroom window (which had to stay open because there was no... More

I stayed at Mountain Lake Lodge to attend a wedding on the property. It's a wonderful place. it doesn't meet the cleanliness standards of say a Hampton Inn and is a bit tired but it is such a spectacular place in so many other ways that I really didn't care about those things which is very very unusual for me.... This place is disappointing. First of all there is no lake. It was drained by a tectonic event and is SLOWLY refilling itself. That should have been clearly stated upfront. I am in a junior suite and it is not clean. The window sills are dirty. Our view overlooks a black rooftop that has not been cleaned in a while.... More

At the risk of stating the obvious! What you see on screen is more than often nothing like it is in real life. So I trekked across the world to visit "Kellermans" or as it is in real life "Mountain Lake Lodge" and I must say I was a little disappointed that the location is not making the most of... More

First I'll talk about the good, because that will only take a minute. If you want to go for hikes everyday and spend most of your day outdoors, *and* you don't mind Spartan accommodations, then this place is for you. The "Tree Top" ropes course was great fun, but again, this falls firmly under the "outdoors of this hotel is... More

Driving home from a four day stay and absolutely loved it. From the beautiful scenery, rich in history, to the numerous hiking trails and tree top activities. Kayaked down the New River via a local outfitter. We stayed in the Blueberry Ridge cabins which were spacious and comfortable. Although our cabin had a full kitchen we still chose to dine... More

They have dog friendly cabins. No air-conditioning but that's okay bc you don't need it. The temps, even on a hot day, are considerably cooler on top of the mountain. AND they allow dogs in the bar area and you can order food from bar & restaurant and then eat it in the bar.

We had a great time. The resort is beautiful even though the lake is mostly dry. The mountain setting is incredible. We enjoyed the many hiking trails around the resort and the activities at outdoor outfitters. We will definitely be coming back.

I visited this resort for a girls weekend at the amazing place where Dirty Dancing was filmed. The hotel and grounds are still very similar to "Kellerman's" and we had a blast! We stayed in one of the cabins, which was great, and also spent a lot of time in the main lodge. We were also there for Brewfest 2016... More

If you like epicurean experiences surrounded by nature with an opportunity to recreate in the great outdoors, Mountain Lake Lodge is for you. Awesome bar and dining experience offering trails around the lake and a zipline course. A great scenic retreat.
