Drove up to Mountain Lake Lodge and passed a covered bridge on our way for a hike near the Lodge. We'd never been and didn't know what to expect. As it turns out, it is one of the locations where Dirty Dancing was filmed. The stone lodge was built in the 1930s with native stone from the area. The property... More

A mix of old charm with some modern amenities. Rooms in main lodge are small, but clean and functional. No TV or air, but were not missed. Outdoor environment and activities draw you outside and the room is cooled by fans and fresh mountain air. Many locations on the property were easily recognized from the movie Dirty Dancing. However, buildings... More

Pro’s -- Beautiful setting, lovely main lodge and quaint out buildings, and sentimental connection to the 80s hit movie Dirty Dancing as a principal filming location. Sadly, however, the Mountain Lake the property borders isn’t there any longer, for the water has largely dried up. The new owners have tried to rebrand Mountain Lake Lodge as an outdoor adventure lodge... More

Great people...Great food...Great accommodations...Great scenery! You can't ask for anything more. We've taken our group retreat to Mtn Lake Lodge for 5 consecutive years and it seems to get better each time!

This is the second trip to the Lodge this month. We enjoyed being in the hotel over the lodge for the close access to the porches for reading, games of checkers, restaurant, bar. We were able to do a lot of hiking as the weather was superb. Everything on the menu has been outstanding on both trips. Mike in the... More

The resort is exactly what you would expect. My family and I adored it. The entire place could use a good updating, but otherwise it just felt good to be there. The lake is dried up to almost nothing, but, TAKE NOTE, the lake the lift was filmed at, and the boardwalk dance seen, was not at that location. You... More

I don't even know how many times we have been to Mountain Lake, but this time we brought our grandchildren. It was the first time our granddaughter was here and the second for our grandson (but he was a baby the first time and doesn't remember it). We love this place. We enjoyed hikes, family meals together and porch sitting.... More

We were not told in advance there was no air conditioning in the Lodge. This is something that should have been disclosed, especially for this price point. We knew there was no tv, but checking in on one of the hottest days EVER and finding out there is no A/C is not cool. The kids went to the pool, but... More

We have visited Mountain lake before but never stayed over night at the Inn. Our most recent visit was on the Sunday. We started the trail like we usually done before but after about half a mile into the woods we realized that it was very damp and muddy and meanwhile it started raining again so we desided to leave...
