The Inn has the most incredible view! The food is a perfect start every morning and it's just the right amount to fuel your day. It's close to so many activities. The new owners are accommodating and friendly! We will definitely be back!
My boyfriend and I went to the Inn at the Riverbend in April 2014. We had a wonderful weekend and met some great people at breakfast both mornings. The people were extremely friendly and it was a great escape to relax. Jim and Janet, the...More
This unique setting will take your breath away in many ways. The yard and view of the Appalachian Mts and New River is outstanding! The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and it felt as if we were at home. The breakfast and snacks were delicious....More
As you approach the Inn you see a fine property but nothing like you expect when you enter and experience the view from the great room/dining room. My assumption is that every room has a view that will keep you memorized but I did not...More
We visited the Inn in March while it was still chilly outside. Our activity options were limited since there isn't much to do inside, but it forced us to relax. The property is beautiful and the owners keep the Inn updated with recent books, games...More

The Cascade Falls trail head is maybe 6 miles away and well worth it. Relatively easy hike of two miles in and two back out - slight loop to it. If the 4 miles needs to be extended you can go up to Barney's Wall from there. Another more strenuous hike is up to Angels Rest - trail head around 4 miles from the inn. Angels Rest is about 2000' elevation gain in 2 miles along the Appalachian Trail. Non-technical mountain biking about 20 miles away on the New River Trail along the river itself. It is a state park some 50 miles long along a rail-to-trail so not much of a grade. You can grab lunch/dinner at the Draper Mercantile (one can also rent bikes there).

"The Palisades room has a private balcony and probably the best view."
