Lovely b&b. Made very welcome by Juen. We stayed for 4 nights in the balcony room which was large in size, bright and airy. Breakfast each morning was superb, with a large choice. Especially loved the local honey. Juen keeps the house in great order, and we had some lovely chats about Paheke, her (and her late husbands) personal contribution... More

From the moment we turned off the highway we were enveloped in the mystique, charm and history of the Far North, an experience nurtured by our discerning hosts. Paheke is a jewel in the crown on the tourist highway leading North from Auckland and guarantees the traveller a rich rewarding taste of Northland hospitality. The room was prepared exquisitely and... More

This is a beautiful B&B 15 minutes inland from Keri Keri near Kaikohe. The location may be the reason the cost of the rooms is very reasonable. We were upgraded to the fantastic Balcony Room which is a large spotlessly clean room with lovely views over the garden, 2 balconies, bath and shower. The bed is comfortable. The house is... More

We spent two nights here as we started our month's stay in New Zealand. The Balcony room was luxuriously comfortable, breakfasts were delicious, and Juen and her daughter-in-law were welcoming, warm, and helpful. They were both respectful of our privacy and open to sharing their knowledge. The location was convenient to exploring both the Northlands East coast and the Kauri... More

My husband and I took a short break from our busy life in Auckland and wanted to stay somewhere special. Paheke Luxury Bed & Breakfast ticked all the boxes. The friendly owner showed us all around their amazing historic homestead (built in 1862 ! ). Our room (The Balcony Room) was spacious, beautifully appointed, with a very comfortable bed. The... My wife and I stayed here over the new year (2013/14) and we had the most wonderful time. Our hosts service was amazing, The food was incredible, the grounds remarkable, the venue quiet and peaceful. Perfectly located on main arterial routes to both east/ west coast, and convenient for heading further north. Ideal for families, couples, or Single travellers. Loved... More

Thank you for your comments - we too enjoyed your stay. Our rural setting is one of the features of Paheke for our guests and it is only 20 minutes to the delights of the Bay of Islands including fine dining (that is assuming you have not arranged to try our 3 course meal of local produce and wine). The... More

We got married at beautiful Historic Paheke. Juen and Frank are excellent hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had the perfect day. To be honest they really spoiled us. The rooms are all lovely especially the Balcony Room in which we stayed in. The food they prepared for us was fantastic. The grounds are also... More

Management response:

Thanks for your kind thoughts - we love the weddings held at Paheke and yours was one of the best. Despite a storm causing the plan for the reception to be changed at the last minute everything went very smoothly and a truly beautiful bride and wedding party graced a unique occasion that you planned. May there be many more... More
