Lovely location on the bay - very quiet and peaceful outlook, beautiful sunsets. Comfortable and well appointed self contained accommodation. Very helpful hosts with excellent knowledge of the surrounding areas and New Zealand.

Set in the most tranquil bay, Pawhaoa Lodge is a joy to visit. The scenery all around it is beautiful and there are many excellent hikes to take. Bill and Claire are excellent hosts and good cooks. Their rooms and cottages are spacious and very well equipped.

Claire and Bill are amazing hosts and Pawhaoa Bay Lodge is a Jewel in New Zealand crown. From beautifully catered meals in the Lodge if you don't wish to cook to collecting clams on the beech and catching snapper in the bay for the BBQ at your Villa, Claire and Bill ensure your stay is perfect for you. On arrival...

Our stay at Pawhaoa Lodge, a tranquil haven about 45 mins from the small town of Russell, was so relaxing. Our large ensuite room was very comfortable and clean. Small touches such as fragrant gardenias on the bedside table, a bowl of fresh fruit, and biscuits to accompany our tea and coffee were much appreciated. The view was like a...

We stayed at Pawhaoa Bay Lodge over Christmas/new year 15/16. All guests were away from family and friends but Claire and Bill made this experience everyone's home away from home. We were met with a glass of bubbles and treated to a 4 course Christmas feast. It is secluded but meets all criteria for total relaxation, except for the walks,...

My husband and I stayed at Pawhaoa Lodge just a few weeks ago and find the overall experience quite nice but I will give an honest review. The location of the place is quite remote and definitely not near any shops or amenities but this is certainly part of the charm and not at all off putting. It is probably...

Thank you for your honest critique of the Villa you stayed in. We are sorry that it did not meet your expectations. However we are mystified as to several of your comments. The Villa had been closed over Winter and only opened up early on your insistence on staying with us. The day before your arrival the Villa was thoroughly...

We stayed at Pawhaoa Bay at the beginning of January 2015 and would thoroughly recommend this peaceful, tranquil lodge situated on the edge of the bay. Two very attractive villas have been built in the grounds of the lodge, very simple, tasteful decor and fully equipped if guests wish to cook inside or barbecue. Guest rooms within the lodge are...

We visited New Zealand in Feb 2015 on our honeymoon and chose to stay at the Pawhaoa Bay Lodge in the Bay of Islands region for four nights. This lodge is tucked away in a serene setting on Bland Bay and yet, is just a short drive away from the quaint town of Russell. We stayed at one of the...

We are fussy travellers, but Pawhaoa Bay Lodge ticked every box! The thought and design that Bill and Claire put into building the lodge is inspirational and we couldn't think of anything that this wonderful property lacked! Bill and Claire have travelled extensively; they've brought back the best ideas from around the world and put them into practice in their...

We stayed with Claire and Bill in January. What a fabulous place. The setting is stunning. Sitting outside with a glass of wine with Bill and Clair watching the sun go down.... What more could you ask. Everything you need is there in the beautiful villa. Claire is a wonderful cook, we had a gourmet breakfast every morning and stayed for...
