This motel is situated so well for a Brisbane to Mackay jaunt. It is half way and a decent day's drive. Great that it is situated back from the highway. The managers are most helpful - often providing a free room upgrade if one is available! Also obliging with meals if highway traffic makes the journey run a bit later...

It absolutely breaks my heart that such a wonderful family are having to move on from the Homestead. You guys done a wonderful job making the place the way it is now especially doing it all on your own. Especially the beautiful renovations in the top block! It will be really sad to see you leave. Although the rooms are a little old school, everything else was amazing! The food was amazing especially their T-bone steaks. Alan and Michelle would do everything possible to make your stay the best possible. I've stayed a few times for work, but now want to take my family to Gladstone to stay here some more.

We stayed at this hotel on our way back to Emu Park from Brisbane to break the journey. We found the room to be very comfortable if a bit dated. We were the only guests that night and found the staff to be very obliging and efficient. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good although the...

My stay here was booked and arranged by my company I work for, so took this as it came. In short, the basic rooms (I was booked into a basic room, not an exec suite or anything fancy) are tired and dated, and some aspects of the bathroom are stained from years of work and probably hard water, but the...

Hi Hamish, We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. We would just like to clarify that the staining in the bathroom you mentioned is from extremely high calcium bore water. We have recently found a product that works in removing the calcium deposit, but sadly takes time & seems to make it worse before it gets better,...

Again pleased to break the long drive north the Bruce Highway. Pleasant rural setting, amiable welcoming host, lots of room, especially for parking, a star lit sky, lovely moon rise, excellent dinner in the restaurant. Good basic motel and a comfortable night's sleep. OK, so it is bit dated, happens to all of us with age, and yes, there is...

We didn't expect a lot but we're blown away by their fantastic service and hospitality in their little restaurant too. We had freshly made pumpkin soup that was to die for, with home made garlic bread. And a great glass of red wine. Perfect on a winter's night.
