2020 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
Just an hour from Brisbane set on a stunning 12,000 acre property, Spicers Hidden Vale is a true hidden gem. Hatted restaurant, Homage has a dedicated team of chefs who create masterpieces based entirely on local produce. Homage has been relocated to the original barn, after devastating fire in the historic homestead in April 2018. You can set your own pace - for those wanting to relax, there are picnic points, in room massages and beautiful lap pool with mountain views to relax in. For those wanting a faster pace, there is mountain biking, bush walking, ATV property tours and archery. Being a nature refuge, the land is abundant with native wildlife including hundreds of Kangaroos and Wallabies and regular koala sightings. Spicers Hidden Vale has 34 rooms. Choose from Valley View Rooms which overlook the mountains, a cottage for groups or for the ultimate experience, a Luxury Suite which is stand alone with spacious lounge, spa and private verandah.

Had a business conference here. What a great weekend. Service and friendliness of staff was sensational. Nothing was a problem. Outlook with the country setting is awesome. Cottage room was fabulous. Looking forward to the next visit.

Paid full price and arrived with major work going on (sanding and staining decks), including the sound of leaf blowers, hedge trimmers and maintenance trucks driving past windows of our accommodation on both days. There was no mention of works by staff whatsoever. Also a large rowdy group situated next door meant no rest or sleep on first day right into late evening. Groups and couples should be considerately kept apart, especially as all guests were long-term repeat visitors. A chat about this issue with reception was met with a blank stare. No apology, little understanding. Almost packed and went home after 24-hours of stressful noise at this ‘retreat’! Staff however are amazing and special mention goes to Ferdinand for excellent service and chefs for amazing food which helped redeem the whole experience.

Unique location and extremely pleasant staff however lack of attention to detail in managerial areas. 1. Breakfast only one course, no cereal, fruit, toast etc 2. Many meals delivered to the table cold. 3. The external verandah the most pleasant place to sit and read and look at the view, however verandah roped off and in the process of revarnishing - ripped off - yes - major work should occur without guests. 4. Peace and tranquility broken by motor hedge trimmer - how about battery tools 5. You may have an electric vehicle but you can't recharge because there is no sign stopping other vehicles parking in the bay. 6. Why do we have to have loud piped music at meals causing everyone to talk louder. 7. Kitchen exhaust fan running all night made sleep difficult Great place , great staff, but some attention to detail please management because it aint cheap. and having major work done with a full house at full price is not on

Wonderful place to unwind, the restaurant is amazing with all produce grown on the property or locally sourced. The rooms are private and well equipped ( we stayed in the luxury cabin.) Plenty of wild life about and the resort does a great job in reducing its environmental impact.

This would have to be without doubt my favorite eating place south of brisbane. The only thing that compares to it would be Isis restaurant in brisbane which is no longer open. Ambience excellent, food unequalled. Knowledge of waitresses impressive.
