Friendly welcome, clean and spacious room, beautiful views. Fridge and microwave in the room. Great value for money. The breakfast room was staffed by a lovely courteous lady, but the food itself was all pre-made and basically inedible. I didn’t use the pool, despite the hot weather, because it looked green and moldy.
Was the interior of hotel clean? Yes. But let me tell you about the pool. It was filled with spiders. Having a saltwater pool doesn’t mean it should be filled with spiders? We had disappointed kids when we told them the pool wasn’t clean enough to swim in during our stay. Apparently, the hotel doesn’t care about keeping it’s pool clean for families. Was the front desk staff nice? Yes. But the breakfast staff wasn’t accommodating to my dietary needs. There was nothing they helped me with. If I hadn’t brought food from home, I would’ve starved with their meager “free” breakfast. This hotel isn’t as lovely as it is purported to be. The fitness room has three old machines. The rooms are clean, but nothing is modern.
This inn shows the care of an owner operated business. The staff are friendly, attentive, and go out of their way to make your stay the best they can. If I rated this hotel on cleanliness it warrants 5 stars. The view is also 5 stars, and one that rivals the Shenandoah Lodges, but in a different way. The hotel is the best value I have ever found. It was a former Holiday Inn Express upgraded to the things you would want in an Inn. The location is perfect to visit wineries and the Shenandoah. Countless incredible restaurants nearby. The Inn at Willow Brook is a wonderful place to start. We will definitely go out of our way to return! Thank you Round Hill Inn!
We stayed at this hotel when it was a Holiday Inn. At the time of that stay, I thought this was nothing like our typical Holiday Inn experience. It has since changed to its own banner but the quality has not gone down. The outdoor pool was being used when we arrived and the morning of check out despite cooler temperatures (I was told it was not heated). The outdoor patio with views of the Blue Ridge was being used and the views as you approached the lobby of those same mountains was great. The rooms were great. The only thing weighing my score was the food. Under Holiday Inn it was the same as other Holiday Inn experiences: fluffy eggs, loads of bacon and sausage, continuously stocked pastries, etc. We did not need to eat this stay but stopped to get a nibble and found powdered eggs, almost no meats, dry and over baked biscuits, pastries covered in plastic like they had been there for days, gravy with caked on, burned edges, etc. Did not stop most guests from partaking but at the rates, I would have expected at least the Holiday Inn level food.…
We stayed here May 31st & June 1st to attend a family funeral in the area. The hotel was very accommodating to us as we required 4 rooms for other family members so we could be all together. The Manager was very helpful and a wonderful person. Breakfast was fine and the hotel was very clean. Beautiful spot on top of the hill. You couldn't ask for better views.
