Potential to be wonderful but didn’t hit the mark. No customer service at all. For the price $295/night - expected more. Such a gorgeous building however smelt like a cat had been living in the room and was full of room fresheners to try to cover it. Eclectic furniture that didn’t fit the history of the building. We had to go out for the day as it was hard to relax in rooms as there was no privacy. Some scary electrical wire connections. Gets three stars as comfortable clean king bed. The rest could have been better.

This charming B&B is unlike any other. I recently stayed for one night whilst I was attending a wedding in the Sutton forest area. Barbara was an amazing host, she is very attentive and flexible with check-in/out times. It's so nice to come across someone so generous and helpful. She does not reside in the same complex so you do get a lot of privacy (unlike some B&B's!).
I was traveling with my husband and infant. We chose to stay in the bridal suite as I wanted an ensuite and more space to fit my bassinet. For the price, I highly recommend it! We had friends staying in the cottage and other rooms in the same complex which were much smaller (about one third of the size of ours) and modest in furnishings. My room (Room1) is at the end of the wing, so no foot traffic and large windows overlooking the gardens. Fantastic at sunrise and sunset.
The breakfast is very good as it is made fresh to order at the separately owned cafe. I was very pleased with the gluten free options. Coffee was fantastic! Common areas are well stocked with tea & coffee facilities and fridge (no microwave).
After staying here I will not be going to the Hunter Valley anymore. This place has much better value for money, exceptional hospitality and better breakfast than resort hotels! The grounds are lush and beautifully kept (due to the cooler climate). Time stands still here, a long driveway, lake, a sandstone cottage and vineyard (not visible).

Made a random stop for a 5 min break which ended being almost an hour. We enjoyed the grounds and the atmosphere. Service is good, but food could do much better for the price. Overall great place to stop when on a long drive

From the moment we turned off the Hume Highway into the driveway of Eling Forest Winery, we were taken away by the lush gardens and charm of the estate. Carol greeted us and took us to our room, the Bridal Suite, which we had for the weekend. The room was spacious and intimate, with a picturesque view across to the lake.
We then strolled down to the Cellar Door for a wine tasting with Michelle, who was full of knowledge and excitement. Their wines were delicious and it was lovely to learn the history of the estate.
We booked the spa which was located just behind our room, under a gorgeous oak tree completely immersed into the garden - a must do!!
All rooms on the grounds were booked for the night yet we hardly saw anyone, it felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves. There were plenty of secluded areas you could relax and picnic, or read, away from crowds and noisy groups you may find at other bed and breakfasts.
We had requested dinner at the estate to avoid having to drive anywhere and we were so glad we did!! We had authentic Udon chicken noodles - a perfect portion and a complimentary cheese platter.
The coffee at the cafe was delicious and the ladies who worked there were so smiley and friendly. Definitely don’t leave without having a coffee!
It was a beautiful and relaxing weekend and I highly recommend to stay - the photos on their website don’t do it justice. Michelle was so accommodating, friendly and her hospitality was delightful.

First impressions are great, the gardens and buildings look beautiful. The roses were out and created a fabulous display. Unfortunately thats where it ended. The room was less than impressive not at all like the website. The bathroom needed a good hard scrub to remove mould from the tiles, it was also in need of some serious repairs, broken tiles etc. The tea and coffee making facilities were in a common area, all well and good for through the day, however I dont want to get dressed first thing in the morning and traipse to a public area to make a cup of tea. No TV in the rooms either only 1 in the common room. For $220 per night I expect quite a bit more. We wont be returning.

We had our wedding here in 2014. What should have been a relaxing and hassle free day was unfortunately extremely stressful and so much went wrong on our special day. We paid for an event coordinator in our package and she did not show up on the day, so as a bride I was dealing with setting up the venue, chasing up things that were missing (for example by noon on the wedding day the fridge had still not been stocked with drinks). On the night the sound system wasn't working, one of our guests got this working towards the end of the night and the staff didn't even try fixing it, they ran out of alcohol, the staff seemed to have no one in charge and no direction... I could keep going with things that went wrong really. This is such a beautiful venue with so much potential, the whole property is stunning, the food and wine were great. It's just so disappointing that there isn't enough attention to detail on the little things that make a wedding day extra special. A dedicated and experienced event coordinator is needed for this venue to run the day and ensure the bride/groom and guests are able to enjoy themselves.

My wife & I celebrated our anniversary here with lunch. The restaurant is well located just off the Hume Mty at Sutton Forest NSW. The lunch menu is quite varied with meals to suit everybody. The service & quality of the food was excellent. We will return.

I have never had to write a poor review - however I have never had such poor service in all my trips around the state for horse competitions. Booked 2 rooms at Eling Forest Winery within 2 weeks of arriving. At the beginning of the week leading up to our stay we were experiencing severe weather patterns and was concerned event would be cancelled. Rang and had to leave message to call me back. 3 days later rang again, no answer, left a message. Also sent email, as the event had been cancelled due to safety concerns. FInally on the afternoon of our arrival I receive a call wondering when I was turning up - really - you don't check your messages and you are in the hospitality/tourism/functions business. All I have been offered is that when I book again, which would then total just under $1300 I can have a discount of $180. Maybe you should improve your customer service side of the business before it's too late. Keep my full payment, you may need it.

We were made very welcome. Steve was very knowledgeable about the wines and their history. A beautiful relaxing place to visit. Highly recommend. The olives and beer pickles are also worth the visit . The grounds are very picturesque and the history of the buildings is also very interesting.
